TKC EXCLUSIVE AND BREAKING NEWS!!! GARDEN CITY, MO CHIEF THOMAS R. ALBER OFFERS A GREAT EXAMPLE AND ACTION FIGURE WITH KUNG-FU GRIP!!!

We've had enough of local FAIL for today . . . Let's take a look at some fan mail concerning a local law man.

Check it:

"You should post about the next up and comer politico from Cass County, Chief Tom Alber of the Garden City, MO Police Dept.

"Alber has been asked by Mayor Sly James and Chief Forte to start a Volunteers in Police Service Program for KCPD.

"Also he was appointed by Sly to the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City.

"Alber also keeps his community up-to-date via Twitter. Check this Tweets: @ChiefTomAlber"

We respect the work done by all local law enforcement officials . . . But an action figure is a nice touch and just one of the way this guy stays winning.

More later . . .

  4. Great PR, maybe Forte should take a hint, too bad his beard wouldn't go too well.

  5. Sure hope the chief from Garden City uses his position on the Health Foundation to keep the $600,000 gravy train for Aim4Peace rolling.
By the way, does he need a branch of that program out there? They can always use a few more hundred thou.

  6. Wow a Clean Shaven well dressed Police Chief. KCPD Heads up!

  7. Garden City has a population of 1,500. Most of those must be rural as I've been through there and there isn't much of a town at all.

  8. Copying a program from a small rural town to address large city issues. Great idea. So what's the connection between him and sly?

  9. KCMO could copy a public safety program from a local larger city, namely KCK, which just a achieved a 14% reduction in homicides.
Of course, KCK actually has elected officials who spend more time focusing on municipal issues like policing than they do diet contests and TIFing everything that moves, and they've developed a highly-sophisticated and broadly-supported community policing effort which involves the residents in looking out for their own neighborhoods.
But that requires way too much work and is pretty boring stuff, so the folks at 12th and Oak will just keep shoveling money to the same old east side grifters, blame each other for two homicides every week, claim that if only KCMO had local control everything would be swell, even though the same people would be in place, and hold absolutely no one accountable for anything.
Beats actually working for a living!
