TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! KC INDOOR FOOTBALL BACK TO KEMPER ARENA!

Remember that just a little while ago we broke news about arena football coming back to Kansas City's Kemper Arena.

Well, the details are starting to become a bit clearer.

Check it . . .

The Champions Professional Indoor Football League (CPIFL) announced the addition of a new Kansas City indoor football franchise today. The team will play its games at Kemper Arena starting this coming Spring.

Even better . . .

YOUNG KANSAS CITY POLITICAL MOVER AND SHAKER JEREMY PLOEGER IS THE NEW OWNER OF THE TEAM COMING TO KEMPER ARENA!!!

Mr. Ploeger (who previously ran for the Missouri House and has participated in quite a few local election campaigns) was a bit nervous today at the presser but he seemed EXCEPTIONALLY confident when he spoke of the team's effort to return Arena Football to West Bottoms.

"We hope to give the fans a great experience," Ploeger said. "I'm very happy to lead this effort to revitalize Kemper and bring more football fans closer to the core of our city."

It was an enthusiastic press conference with a nice turnout for a midday. We noticed a bunch of familiar faces and other Kansas City politicos.

From left to right, take a look at Kansas City Councilmen Scott Taylor (6th At-Large), John Sharp (6th), Ed Ford (2nd At-Large) and Pastor Brooks (5th).

The presser consisted mostly of player introductions and a promise to provide more details about the team as the season comes closer.

Star players already signed include . . . Diyral Briggs, a member of the Superbowl winning Green Bay Packers, former K-State standout Quarterback Carson Coffman and former Mizzou defensemen Cornelius "Pig" Brown and Tommy Chaivs.

And of course there were cheerleaders . . .

We'll have a bit more insight about the team later . . . For now what's exciting is the return of pro-sports to Kemper which signals a bit of a renaissance for the old school arena and also reveals that promoters and teams are actively looking for an alternative to The Sprint Center.

DEVELOPING . . .

  1. It's too bad all the councilpeople can't find the time to show up at at least a few of the homicides in their city.
But this incredibly Bush League joke is a big deal in KCMO! Hope they get the cattle out of Kemper before these games.
    Or maybe not.
And are these folks going to pay to use Kemper or is this yet another freebie on the taxpayers' house?

  2. just another league that is paying players nothing signing local guys trying to get fan's to come out .. all the command had to do was lower the ticket price , get some creditable coaching and players and people would have supported them ... and the upcoming guy needs to realize that facts are facts ... KC is a pro town , Neil's TEAM was the best , and it was not under paid guy's being able to play

  4. Agreed! Big Fucking Joke. The city has been taking it up the ass at Kemper since the Comets were here, not paying enough rent to cover costs. Looks like cheerleader tryouts were held on Independence Avenue.

  8. Looks like some bar is going to be without hookers a few nights a month judging from those cheerleaders.

  9. Resign and give up a 65,000/year job where you're not responsible for antyhing and can blame everyone else for anything that goes wrong or makes residents angry?
You've got to be kidding. KCMO residents don't care about homicides, or water pipes that break, or being lied to about how their money is being spent, or fire hydrants that don't work. Why should the elected officials care? Especially when just around 20% of the voters even bother to show up.
Just keep that money coming, suckers. We'v egot some new tricks right around the corner.

  11. What a bunch of IDIOTS and I dont mean th people in the pics or the cherleaders, I am talking about the bloggers. I went to several Command games and yes the ticket prices for good seats was way to high but Sprint Center set prices not the team ownership. Going back to Kemper should take care of that and maybe with a couple years they will move back up to AFL or the newly formed CPIFL will catch on. Regardless its great football during NFL off season. I hope fans will support the new team and go to games its a lot of fun. And as far as the cheerleaders go they are someones daughter or sister or wife or friend.
