Crossroads GPS is a heavy hitting GOP PAC and this afternoon they've issued the following statement about the embattled Missouri Senate Candidate.
“Rep. Akin faces a simple choice: Will he help Democrats hold the McCaskill seat and potentially the Senate majority by staying in the race, or will he help Republicans defeat Barack Obama's most reliable ally in the Senate by getting out?”
-- Steven Law, American Crossroads President and CEO
This is the group that has produced the most effective anti-Claire ads for Missouri. If they're not behind Akin, he's pretty much lost the last bit of support that mattered.
Not that Akin follows this room, but JEESH...Tony...Don't pressure him. We WANT AKIN to run. Lets push these issues to voting day!
ReplyDeleteWow! None other than that paragon of leadership and decency Karl Rove is calling on someone to quit running for office?
ReplyDeleteThe ads that Crossroads were going to run have nothing to do with Aiken or anyone elese who might run on the Republican ticket. They're nothing but sleaze and crap about McCaskill. We've already been subjected to them for weeks.
Aiken is the candidate that Republican voters chose in their primary. And he's been in Congress for SIX terms, so his views are hardly surprising. Outrageous, uninformed, 16th Century, and hateful, yes, but not surprising.
Why should anyone be surprised tha Aiken plans to run as, well, Aiken?
Very clear choice.
Akin, get out the way!
ReplyDeleteWhat, only 3 comments from you ignorant assed hayseeds?
ReplyDeleteAkin has done nothing but voice the same ignorance and stupidity that abounds in the lives, minds and hearts of you stupid, nasty assed red necks who have turned this part of the country into a conservative WASTELAND!!
Don't make Akin leave now, let him stay. I want to hear how he feels about other things! The idiot!
I wonder what kind of deal they are offering him because they cannot afford to really walk away from him if he stays in?
ReplyDeleteAikin needs to do what's best for the GOP. He has screwed up enough. Face reality...it's time to go.
ReplyDeleteAkin's way more centered on himself than his party. Yaay Todd. Stay in there bud.
ReplyDeleteThis is a real dilemma. While "the good of the party" is certainly important, so are the ethics involved with Mr. Akin and his apparent mis-speak. Everyone's telling him to get out and he's saying "no". I'm inclined to go with him......damn it, stick to your guns, Todd and beat that bitch on the issues, not some dumb-assed response to a talk show question.
ReplyDeleteMark Funkhouser forgot to sign that last comment.
ReplyDeleteAiken IS doing what's best for the GOP. He's showing the voters what's really behind the curtain and the smooth-talking phonies e's are all beside themselves because he's giving away the game.
ReplyDeleteAsk John Boehner waht it's like to try to get anything done with full-mooners like Aiken. He makes the flat earthers look like progressives!
