Gunfire Fundraiser In Kansas City Suburbs

KCTV5 human interest and aftermath after a firearm accident: "It's been six months since Howe, now 14, was accidentally shot in the head. She spent 72 hours in a coma after surgery . . . But even miracles can get expensive. Alyssa's medical bills have started to come in. She's been through months of therapy. Friends and family wanted to help. Saturday's Alyssa Howe fundraiser featured breakfast, lunch, a bake sale and a charity bike ride."

  1. Isn't it ridiculous that people have to have fundraisers and bake sales to give kids the healthcare they need?

  3. Sad. But just another sign the big money making racket known as the U.S. Healthcare industry is alive and well.

  4. A kid shot in the head but can't afford healthcare. And your average American still thinks our government cares about us and the politicians are fighting for us. Every country with free healthcare for its citizens are laughing at us, while steamed at us at the same time.

  5. After 6 months we still don't know whose gun or whose house. Nice job protecting the gun owner/home owner going on. must be a cop or prosecutor? Maybe Matt Bartle's house?
