Speculators Not Wanted On The Westside

Check the latest bit of Kansas City real estate enthusiasm and sponsored content in The Star and then realize that it's been more than a decade since this brand of economic hype has been relevant.

Move on up to the West Side

On the other hand, more middle-class former suburbanites living around TKC is sort of nice if only because it's fun to see new reactions to typical Downtown rudeness . . . Mostly on my part.

  1. Downtown rudeness? What passes for urban hipsters in KCMO wouldn't last three minutes in a real city like NYC!

  2. Middle class? Did you see the prices on those things? They're looking for the more dollars than sense people, and those folks lost it all in the crash.

  3. Invasion of the Yuppies. How will the Botello's keep up?

  4. Only future I see for West Side is eminent domain to make way for whiter and brighter development.

  5. Yes, here come the TIF bond attorneys and JE Dunn. Goodbye actual residents and small businesses; hello taxpayer subsidies.

  6. Well T if places like your mom's house bring that kind of money you best sell and haul ass before the price goes down when the Zombies move in to the area.
