ReplyDeleteVery interesting point, 6:24. Wonder why Tony hasn't checked with his anti-government, libertarian friends that he goes out of his way to tout as free thinkers about global warming.
ReplyDeleteAnd of course, Tony makes the same mistake the deniers make every time it's extremely cold and snowy in January. Weather on a particular spot on the planet is NOT evidence about global warming one way or the other. Extremes of weather have happened throughout history.
What is evidence is the hard, and boring, data gathered scrupulously from around the globe that the entire planet is getting warmer in ways that look slow and gradual to the uninformed, but actually at a accelerated rate over the past few decades that once took centuries for natural, cyclical changes to occur, and the correlation between this rather rapid increase in global temperatures with the rather rapid increase in CO2 in the atmosphere.

I'm also old enough to remember several media-hyped threats of new dust bowls and ice ages.
