Sarah Gillooly is a good person, but it's hard to see how Judy Morgan would not be re-elected.
Judy has been a long-time stalwart, efective supporter of progressive causes, including LGBT rights.

if sarah gillooly is the democratic nominee, the seat will go republican. the republicans have a strong, centrist, local establishment candidate in jonathan sternberg, a well-known attorney. the business community won't let the seat go to someone like gillooly.

Sarah supports the LGBT equivalent of the Civil Rights Bill. That means people will be forced to hire gays, transsexuals, transvestites, and other oppressed sexual minorities. This is only fair. I would go further though and support quotas like in Norway for government work at the very least.

The LGBT community can't tell politicians to stay out of their private lives and then make it the focal point of a campaign. Pick one. I personally prefer to elect someone who will care about all the issues and bother to inform herself about them. I had a long conversation with Sarah yesterday about public education, and neither her nor my sexual orientation ever came up. It just want relevant.
We'll need a bill that forces gays to hire us straights at some point. One can always sue for sexual discrimination though if a gay person doing the hiring hired a gay person instead of choosing say a more qualified straight person.
