TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! AFTER A RECENT SUCCESSFUL REPORT: PLANS ALREADY UNDERWAY TO PROPOSE EVEN MORE KANSAS CITY RED LIGHT CAMERAS!!!

Kansas City Insiders and politicos are celebrating the success of a recent report regarding the effectiveness of red light cameras.

Check the summary for The Star:

Red light cameras are changing driver behavior in Kansas City, report says

To wit . . .

THIS SUCCESS MEANS THAT KANSAS CITY INSIDERS AND POLITICOS HAVE THE GREEN LIGHT TO PUSH EVEN MORE RED LIGHT CAMERAS ON LOCAL STREETS!!!

I'll post the ordinance number soon . . . But it's already written.

Right now more red light camera for Kansas City will be a slam dunk with this rubber stamp City Council and a Mayor who is more interested in Toy Trains and the All-Star game.

Again, more surveillance on local streets still doesn't make most Kansas City people feel any safer.

  1. More red light cameras. Hmm. Does this mean the city will be putting johns back on TV before they're found guilty of trying to get a little from a cop they'd like to see undercover?

  2. The whole redlight camera system is a complete joke. Go to court and plead not guilty. The judge will dismiss the ticket automatically, no lawyer required. All it costs you is the time away from work. The more people figure this out, the less revenue the system will generate for the city.

  3. ‎"The report consisted of a narrative but NO DATA TABLE. Camera-generated citations and wrecks caused by red-light running have both declined, according to the report."

PROVE YOUR FACTS, KCPD AND ATS!!! Accidents "inside" the box (inside the intersection) vs "outside" the box (rear end collisions/outside the four white lines of the intersection) will definitely give you varying results.

Dont' forget who wrote the study... "The final report released Tuesday was written by police with help from American Traffic Solutions, the private company that has a $1.6 million annual contract with the city to run the camera program."

By the way, where IS the report??

  4. Im curious, how many motorists have run these lights where the police can't identify the owner of the car due to improper tags? How many tickets have turned into warrants? What has been the conviction rate? I want to see where the benefit outweighs the cost!

  5. Just another reason to love the 'burbs while the city ponders building another pet project trying to lure suckers into the trap.
