TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY VOTERS FACE FEAR AND SCARE TACTICS IN SUPPORT OF MAYOR SLY'S PLAN FOR EVEN MORE LOCAL TAXES AND DEBT!!!

Here's the same old Kansas City lie that's manufactured every time local politicos want to keep raising taxes . . .

AS USUAL POLITICOS PUSHING MAYOR SLY'S NEW PLAN ARGUE THAT THE CONSEQUENCES FOR REJECTING THE LATEST ROUND OF TAXES AND BORROWING WILL BE CATACLYSMIC!!!

The streets will fall apart . . . Good luck noticing the difference.

Water rates will skyrocket . . . Like they haven't already.

And even more local services will be cut . . . Meanwhile the list of lackeys in the Mayor's office keeps growing.

Remember that Kansas City Politicos promised this town an apocalypse worse than anything the Mayans predicted for 2012 if Kansas City didn't approve the E-Tax.

And now they're back for more . . .

The tragic thing about these scare tactics is that they work time and time again on Kansas City voters.

To wit . . .

TKC CHALLENGES KANSAS CITY VOTERS TO PUSH BACK AGAINST THE SAME TIRED OLD SCARE TACTICS THAT KANSAS CITY POLITICOS USE WHEN PUSHING NEW TAXES AND INSTEAD ASK FOR DETAILS ABOUT HOW THE MONEY IS GOING TO BE SPENT!!!

The important part to remember about all of the money that taxpayers give local government is that a lot of it almost always gets diverted or poured into the general fund like a blank check.

More to the point . . .

KANSAS CITY WILL SURVIVE WITHOUT MORE TAXES AND BORROWING!!!

This is an inconvenient fact that local politicos don't like to be confronted with but it's kind of obvious.

Meanwhile . . .

It's always unfortunate to see Kansas City's Mayor Sly James push tax increases and borrowing with far more vigor and enthusiasm than he would dare employ in order to confront the local murder count.

DEVELOPING . . .

  1. Actually, James' plan is intended to be revenue neutral. That means no cost, i.e. nada, empty brackets, zilch, goose egg, Tony.

    1. Revenue neural like Sprint Center, Power and Light? Revenue neutral like Kemper? Revenue neutral like the TIF for walmart? Yeah, zero is what taxpayers got in return.

  2. James plan shifts the burden from one set of taxpayers (vehicle owners and property owners along boulevards) to another set of taxpayers (everyone who buys things).

If one believes that driving is a privilege and that boulevards enhance property values but also require enhanced maintenance, then what James is asking is for everyone to pay the costs so that those who are privileged with mobility, a higher level of street and right of way services, and who receive the economic benefits of the same, can continue to benefit.

I like user fees and pay-as-you-go economics. Let those who receive specific benefits pay for them- not the general public.

    1. The only problem with pay as you go economics is that only decent tax paying citizens pay and the rest of the mopes just don't pay they get by with getting a new temp tag from their mope cousin's every month.

    1. I think they are pocket neutral. Front or back, left or right, this mayor and council don't seem to care where you hide your money.

  5. Vote against these taxes. They already take enough. Don't let these clowns take more!

  6. Just say No and Vote NO.

  8. Don't worry. The KCMO council will spend the money exactly like they promise. Until they have it and want to spend it on something else, just like they have over and over again.
Suddenly the streetcar will become a parks project, because there's no money to operate it. Or they'll need money for a new American Royal building, so other definitions will change.
Hasn't anyone noticed a pattern of how money that's promised for services for RESIDENTS always gets turned into expenditures for INSIDERS?
If not, you're getting precisely the governoment you deserve.
