On May 23, 2012, at approximately 7:09 am, Michelle Rheuport, 40, was found dead inside her residence at 411 Farris Avenue, in Richmond, by a family member. Following an investigation, officers from the Missouri State Highway Patrol's Division of Drug and Crime Control, Ray County Sheriff's Department and the Richmond Police Department arrested three Richmond, MO residents for the murder of Michelle Rheuport:
Brandon Scott Simpson, 25, -- Murder first degree -- Class A felony, Burglary first degree -- Class B felony, Stealing -- Clas C felony -- Simpson was also arrested for a Probation and Parole violation warrant.
James Gant, 25 -- Murder second degree -- Class A felony, Burglary first degree -- Class B felony, Stealing -- Clas C felony -- Gant was also arrested for a Probation and Parole violation warrant.
Lauren Gabbard, 23 -- Murder second degree -- Class A felony, Burglary first degree -- Class B felony, Stealing -- Clas C felony.
All three subjects are being held at Ray County Jail on a $1,000,000.00 cash or surety bond. The charges for which the above individuals were arrested are mere accuation and are not evidence of guilt . . .

ReplyDeleteI too am African American. I have a law degree and have never committed a crime in my life. No one in my family has either. To generalize a whole race for the actions of some is ridiculous. Would you say all Germans were Nazis just because many of them were and committed horrible acts? I hope you wouldn't. The same goes for blacks. It never makes sense to generalize a race. Most serial killers and child molesters are white males, but I don't "raise my antenna" as you call it, every time I see a white male. This logic just doesn't make sense. Maybe you all need the education that you claim blacks lack.

I lived there for 17 yrs, had a daughter and raised her there until recently and am so glad I left before this happened. I know both of the boys involved as they were friends of my sons and my cousins kids as well and am totally shocked!

Let's not forget that her oldest son found her. How do u think that will effect him for the rest of his life? ReplyDeleteBut He expects us to make judgments about the righteousness or sinfullness of the actions and behaviors of others, and to call them to account and repentance for such. Sometimes that comes in the harshest of terms.
I don't eternally condemn these three. But they do need to be judged and held accountable for their actions, as a matter of righteousness, to protect other innocents from falling victim to them, and as a warning to other people who may be heading down the same path.
The pejoratives thrown at these three and others like them are inconsequential in comparison to the damage they have done to this family. And if it leads to repentance, so much the better.

ReplyDelete~I too spent some time residing in Richmond, I went to school there for a little while and then moved back as an adult. The fact is that town is still in it's little high school clicks. It is the most gossiping town I have ever been to in my entire life. Everyone knows everyone's business. The METH rate is high along with other drugs. I refer to that town as RICHMOND WHERE TEETH ARE OPTIONAL.
