Beastie Boys' MCA - Adam Yauch - has died

Just as much as anybody else . . . The Beastie Boys have influenced TKC in as much as their KICK-ASS and authentic take on hip-hop was a standard that few rappers live up to today.

It might not be Kansas City related for just about every Gen-Xer, this is a big deal:

'Beastie Boys' MCA Adam Yauch Dead at 47

To wit, my weekend will be dedicated to all of my favorite Beastie Boys jams . . .

If hip-hop is your thing, check out my absolute favorite video the group ever produced.

RIGHT NOW 96.5 IS PLAYING NOTHING BUT BEASTIE BOYS TRACKS THIS HOUR!!!

  6. Haters and people that make negative comments about the recently deceased are the lowest of the low and deserve all the bad karma that they have coming back to them.

People who haven't created anything but turds and nagging disappointment with their lives shouldn't have the gall to comment when any artist dies.

  8. The beastie's came to KC in 86, it was a weekend show, Sunday I believe, they were doing the rounds at the radio stations. I was working at Power 95 and during thier interview they slipped out and started messing with the KCMO 810am control board, which was on auto-pilot network crapp. The Beaties plays music, talked about music and how they LOOOOOVVVVVVed KC.

  9. Tech N9ne mops the floor with these guys. It's to bad rap has such a bad image because people are missing some amazing artistry and creativity such as Tech's stuff.

  10. 6:04 You are out of your mind. Tech n9ne is terrible and has no appeal outside of KC and little boy rock rap fans from small towns.

  11. Ha, look at the fanboys crying in their beers. BTW, that's you 2:23 and 2:56. If the internet is good for anything, it's the hand wringing and self-righteous ethics lesson from the Ann Landers wannabees.
