TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! THANKS TO "UNCONSTITUTIONAL SPLITTING", NEW MISSOURI SENATE MAP!!!

THANKS TO AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS . . This is a bit more Friday new about the ongoing and everlasting process of redistricting in Missouri. Local media isn't reporting about the problems in the process AND I, it's clear the terms that insiders are throwing around are in the process are important for voters to know.

First there was this:

"We have very credible – but by no means confirmed – information that the Appellate Reapportionment Commission will be withdrawing the new Senate redistricting plan it released last week and submitting a new plan in its place. The information we have is the new plan will correct the unconstitutional splitting of counties that occurred in several instances on the first new map.

The word is that only the Senate plan is being revised and that the House redistricting plan submitted last week will remain in place."

A follow-up presser . . .

"The new Senate map has been released. At a quick glance, it appears the commission fixed the constitutional county-splitting problems with Jackson, Clay, Cass, Johnson and Greene counties, but may have created a new problem by splitting Lafayette. The new map also doesn’t fix the St. Charles County situation, in which a small portion of the county – which could have merely been divided into two districts wholly contained in the county – is split off into a neighboring districts with other counties."
