I'm still not exactly sure what they said and reporters at the presser had difficulty deciphering what the Mayor was saying . . . Basically, they met to say that they will meet again and continue "community discussions" for a plan that has yet to show us any real detail.

ReplyDeleteWe should respect the political process, and if someone thinks they can do better than the current elected school board members, run for the office already. The biggest problem the KCPS has is lack of interest by decent candidates in running for the board.

This is a money grab by someone. I don't know much but I would bet some serious cash that in five yeas we will be saying, "City pays X millions of dollars to bail out failed mayorial school takeover. X millions wasted on X and some unaccounted for."

The mayor fucked up when he assumed he could assume a state charge while still remaining mayor under the city charter.
