Former Prosecutor Rachel Townsend Sues Lee's Summit For Unlawful Retaliation!!!

We all know that Rachel Townsend is a local mover and shaker . . . But here's a quick report regarding an unfortunate incident and Ms. Townsend taking a stand on the matter . . . From The Lee's Summit Tribune . . .

Former prosecutor suing city of Lee's Summit

The details . . .

"According to court documents, on Dec. 15, 2010, Townsend sent a memo to Arbo complaining about a sexually charged birthday card Williams had circulated around the office on or about Dec. 9. In it, she accused Williams of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment.

"However, it was Townsend who was suspended without pay a month later as the city investigated the matter.

Despite having received yearly merit increases in pay since she was hired as assistant city prosecutor in January 1999, Townsend says she was demoted on Dec. 27 and received a 5 percent pay decrease."

We'll have to wait and see how this one turns out . . . And we're still hearing Ms. Townsend's name when it comes to Jackson County Prosecutor election . . .

Still . . . This could be an important fight and kind of demonstrates that even power local women STILL face old school workplace challenges.

  1. Why is Judge Brian Round, who was a finalist for Sanders' appointment of the new jaco prosecutor, involved in trying to take Rachel out?

  2. The only time anyone hears Townsend's name connected to the JaCo prosecutor's race is when people laugh about the piss-poor job see and her disbarred cronies did the last time she ran.

She's not even a footnote in county political history. No doubt her personal injury law practice ads should start airing on late night KCWE any time now.

  3. Oh Jean, are you nervous about Rachel running against you? Or maybe it's old Jimmy Kanatzar typing mean messages. Remember Rachel scared Jimmy so much he stopped running and had to beg Jay Nixon for an appointment to the bench.

  4. I saw her in action with a phoney trumped up prosecution of a MCC leafleter who on Election Day was arrested for passing out leafets in the public recreation center parking lot.. Case was dropped on appeal. Why? Because LeVolta hired as Special Prosecutor
    saw it was bogus.

  5. She was fired for playing Farmville on city time, and engaging in "erotic" web chat while she was on the clock.

    FOIA her city computer records.

  6. HELP ME TO UNDERSTAND! The US is facing the worst employment crisis in a generation and Lee’s Summit’s payroll has room for a CITY ATTORNEY (Teresa Williams) with flagrant disregard for, and /or complete ignorance of THE LAW as it pertains to behavior in the workplace!

How many local shops are closing? How many hardworking Lee’s Summit taxpayers cannot make ends meet? All while Teresa (Mrs. Honorable Edward Williams – Peculiar Municipal Judge), turns OUR City Government into a laughing stock by handing out porn like she’s some sort longshoreman (no offense to longshoremen who deserve THEIR jobs).

Townsend is suing the City of Lee’s Summit because Teresa (Mrs. Honorable Edward Williams,) considered herself above the law… then covered her bases by conspiring to fire a City Prosecutor who had served Lee’s Summit for over a decade of growth and development. THEN Teresa (Mrs. Honorable Edward Williams) replaces Townsend with some Sarah Palinesque moron from Alaska with no experience doing anything other than serving a city (or is it village) comprised of about a thousand residents! WOW, SAYS A LOT that Lee’s Summit had to call in a patsy from Alaska since no local attorney was considered – Guess that Teresa (Mrs. Honorable Edward Williams), had to search far and wide to avoid getting someone who might know her reputation!

Lee’s Summit has a proud tradition of decent, hardworking people… Our Courts should reflect that tradition. Since we employ her, I believe it is time to send Teresa (Mrs. Honorable Edward Williams), a card of our own…

“Condolences on the loss of your job, you have cost OUR CITY ENOUGH!”

  7. Honey you got it all wrong. The lsmo city attorney, Teresa Williams, is the idiot from alaska. Terri Round is the prosecutor there now. Terri Round's husband, Bryan Round, is the municipal court judge in Peculiar, Mo. All three of those jackasses were out to get Eric for standing up for what is right. Check out Casenet, looking up the docket sheet in the Missouri Western District Court of Appeals for "Robert Cook v City of LSMO. Check out the three judge panel opinion issued 3/22. Check out the details of the petition on www.lstribune.net. Then YOU be the judge. Terri Round and Bryan Round also have some serious questions to answer concerning the dismissal of their 16 y.o.'s daughter's speeding ticket in kcmo muni court this year.
