John Landsberg at Bottom Line Communications recently brought some JOURNALISM to a recent Kansas City media slapfight.
Check out his entire report but here's the money quotes that stood out in my mind:
"Kansas City Star reporter/columnist Mary Sanchez, who has often been skewered on Botello's blog, confirmed to this site that she refused to participate on the panel."
And so this is war.
Dirty Mary Sanchez wants to play hardball with TKC then the Star's token must mistakenly believe that I don't have some rather gully media tricks in my bag. Nullus.
What's worse is that that Bottom Line Communications provides documented proof that a staffer at The Star is working against a member of the community she supposedly represents. Mary Sanchez has made the sometimes ridiculous discourse of this blog personal and her unprofessional actions simply highlight the fact that I'm in her head. So I must destroy her career . . . Or marry her.
Either way . . . MARY SANCHEZ MUST PAY!!!
Sounds like a manufactured feud to gain attention with KC's Latin community.

Who wrote that post, Tony? The reason I ask is that it's the only one without any significant grammar and/or spelling errors.

ReplyDeleteChuck is right on. Sanchez is basically worthless, at least as a journalist. Her readership is probably less than TKC. Her influence certainly is. Interestingly enough, the pro Sanchez comments all sound alike. Must be the few remaining Star reporters with nothing to do, posting here. TKC definitely beats Sanchez any day.

ReplyDeleteThis has nothign to do with race, but of culture. Some cultures are definately lacking in civility. Mexicans, arabs and jews are among them.
ReplyDeleteMissing the civility of the English whose history and civilization has advanced greater than most cultures on this planet.
This is not to be confused with the morality of RESPECTING other cultures, no matter their relative incivility compared to others, but to realize that some cultures are just farther along than others.
And the end result of those cultures is that some survive better and have more civility than others.
Similarly, the more advanced of the planet's culturs find certain others much more uncivil, even hostile and savage, than others.
TO illustrate what I mean, note how even ALL combined cultures in America find arabs savage.
Savage means, in many ways, more animal like. It reflects on the concepts of justice and especially, in western cultures, more forgiving.
As man lords over and metes his justice on the animal world, so will man's more advanced cultures lord over his kinds' lesser ones.
That's just one of the laws of natural progression.
IF you subscribe to to a lessor civilization, well be ready for your fate when it comes, if it does. And pray to your heathen god for more mercy than your own culture normally allows.
I've asked Mexicans all over town, and NONE of them can speak Latin.
ReplyDeleteYa gotta ask one old enough to remember teh latin Mass. Kids today can't even speak English all that well. Especially the ones who call themselves Latins...or rather Mexicans. IT'd be interesting to know how many of them can't read and write even Spanish.
