KANSAS CITY BLOGGER CITIZEN JOURNALIST LUCAS ASKS ALL OF THE IMPORTANT QUESTIONS ABOUT THE NEW WOODSIDE VILLAGE PROPOSAL!!!

Kansas City area blogger Lucas Wetzel recently took some time to post some rather AWESOME CITIZEN JOURNALISM regarding the buzz surrounding the Woodside Village Proposal in Westwood, Ks. that has sparked a great deal of interest but very little reporting.

Check the most important passage, the emphasis is mine:

"Having sat down for an hour with Blair Tanner, it’s clear he’s not just some coastal developer looking to make an easy buck. While he was born and still spends most of his time in L.A., Mr. Tanner grew up spending summers at Woodside, which his father built in the seventies . . .

"Other things I’m not so sure about. He says he couldn’t be more confident in the demand for these kinds of apartments, but also admits that the number of apartments was increased to 330 because that’s the only way they can pay off the cost of the development. He told me there is no financial risk to the city, but obviously there’s a risk that a project of this size would get stalled and leave an ugly, undeveloped space similar to those seen in Mission, Merriam, Overland Park and other parts of the city."

PLEASE READ THE POST IN ITS ENTIRETY FOR ALL OF THE INSIDE SCOOP ON THE LATEST LUXURY DEVELOPMENT AIMED AT KANSAS CITY'S HIGH SOCIETY!!!

Kudos to Mr. Wetzel . . . This is the future of reporting. Mainstream media no longer has the resources to cover this kind of issue that's important to neighborhoods and Mr. Wetzel provides accurate and in-depth coverage which raises and answers a lot of questions that are important to his community and interesting for all of Kansas City.

  1. WTF - no comments? Now I am convinced that only corporate newsies leave anon comments on this blog. They don't want to draw any attention to a real story that they were too lazy to chase!

  2. I belong to woodside and hope like hell this proposal doesn't pass. I don't live there so I can't vote, but it is pretty obvious that this stinks to high heaven.
