Earlier this week, they needed a helicopter in order to install a new 50 ton A/C unit on top of the Bank Midwest building at 11th and Baltimore . . . Unfortunately, somebody forgot to tell that to a sleeping Kansas City blogger armed only with a camera.

Whah.
ReplyDelete9:30????? Really? C'mon. Even in college 9:30 was a reasonably late enough to forgive construction or contractors for doing their jobs that may have awoken me. If it were 6am you'd have a legit gripe.
I think the gripe is that as near as I could tell, they didn't tell anyone, ANYONE, that they would be closing the streets.
ReplyDeleteCatholic charities had a "mandatory" training session at it's headquarters at 20 w. 9th, and many of the folks couldn't get there due to the street closure. Fucked up a lot of people's schedules.
Isn't there anything in City ordinances to REQUIRE contractors to notify the general public about temporary street closures?
