TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! OUTGOING KANSAS CITY COUNCIL DUDE TERRY RILEY TOUTS HIS NEW CONSULTING COMPANY!!!

The recent E-Tax election revealed a great deal of interesting information and I'd like to start the morning with this bit of scoop . . .

OUTGOING KANSAS CITY COUNCIL DUDE TERRY RILEY HAS STARTED HIS OWN CONSULTING BIZ AND LOOKS TO REMAIN A PLAYER ON THE LOCAL POLITICAL SCENE!!!

Mr. Riley told TKC about the new biz while he was complaining about all of the meanies in the comments. I told him that I'm a big advocate of free speech and he informed me that he has friends among the feds who can track everybody who posts a comment here on TKC . . . Doing my best to stifle a giggle at the obvious bluff, I wanted to know more about his far more realistic consulting endeavor . . .

Judging from a great deal of access that I could see and his many contacts among the crowd . . . It was easy to tell that Council Dude Terry Riley played a major role in the highly successful E-Tax campaign . . . Or at the very least he was an important supporter.

More to the point . . .

KANSAS CITY COUNCIL DUDE TERRY RILEY HAS AN IMPRESSIVE LIST OF CONTACTS AND GREAT ACCESS TO BOTH LOCAL BIG BIZ AND COMMUNITY RESOURCES . . . SO HIS CONSULTING WORK SEEMS LIKE A SMART MOVE!!!

From the brief description I was privy to . . . It sounds like Mr. Riley will continue to do it all . . . The consulting concern will have two distinct branches that handle eco-devo work, management and then political and campaign duties.

While it's clear that Riley has his detractors, it'll be interesting to see his work outside of elected office and among his many supporters and friends.

Developing . . .

Comments

  1. The IT director at City Hall could trace most of the comments just by looking at his logs.

And he SHOULD. Course now that the referendum and the electiondums are over, I expect comments will heavily drop now from the ten most active politicos.

  2. A new "consulting firm"! Just what KCMO government needs! With any luck, we've just elected some people who can actually at least try to manage the city WITHOUT having to pay for advice about where to find the bathroom and what to do there.
I hope Riley has lots of contacts with the feds; they should be watching him, among others, very closely.

  3. I hope for his and his family's sake he reads the City's ethics codes which strictly prohibits Riley and other retiring Council members from ANY contact with the city on behalf of a client for one year. The city attorney has written them a legal opinion laying out the guidelines.

  4. He should open a copier business.

    Terry here is a tip.
Those people from the "Feds" who follow you around all the time are not called "friends."
    Those people are called "investigators."
They are probably still looking into your side deals related to the Citadel project.

    ReplyDelete
  6. What a surprise! Riley is positioning himself right in the middle of "economic development" projects and he can only hope another Citadel Plaza comes down the road. With all that unaccounted-for taxpayer money just sloshing around, a few percent here and there will never be missed, and if anyone calls him out, then "racism" will be the answer.
When will the black community elect and listen to some actual leaders who BRING something to the public table and try to raise all the community instead of constantly paying attention to people like Riley, whose only interst is himself?
The condition of neighborhoods east of Troost is testament to all the grifters and "consultants" who have done very well for themselves while their community suffers. Just look around.

  7. I guess if he is forming a consulting firm, there will be no job for him in the Sly James administration after the transition.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Good that!

    ReplyDelete
  9. I heard it's with Moreno

    ReplyDelete
  10. I'm so impressed with Terry Riley's friends among the feds.

Why thats almost as riDQulous as

    "Rainbows on fire"

but not quite as impressive as

    "Old fashioned shaving bunnies".

I hope this doesn't make me a meanie.

  11. Now that the E-Tax passed, theres going to be plenty of money for consultants.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Another low life Irish con man, scamming the public.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Terry Riley is the man!!

    ReplyDelete
  14. "Consulting" is for people looking for easy money with only general but non specific skills, when they're out of work and don't interview for a real job very well.

People go into 'consulting' when they're between jobs so as not to have a double wide hole in their resume. But few "consultants" make enough to pay their mortgage.

It only serves to help you answer the question, 'uh what do you do?"

Better than saying, "oh I'm in unemployed loser."

Wonder if he'd "consult" on some yardwork I really don't feel like doing?

  15. The people that succeed are not the ones that get it right. The people that succeed are the ones that do what they have to do in order to succeed. Even if it isn't right.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Any asshole can declare himself a 'consultant', but not until after he has a consultant rep and continuing business is he really a consultant.

Moreover, I'd suggest you're not a consultant until you have clients. Until then, you're just a wanna be consultant like the jobless are wannabe workers!

Call a spade a spade.. piss on the guy's ego!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Considering you are a consultant radioman that is funny.

Terry Riley is the most powerful political player in Kansas City now. If he were smart he would become a consultant.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Hey Radioman, you are right that some people like you call yourself a consultant and it usually does mean out of work. But Riley is on the Jackson Coounty Democratic Committee. Riley is on the Missouri State Committee. He is a former state rep and now former city councilman. He is not just a guy saying he is a consultant like you are. You are just a blow hard, do nothing blogger. Riley has real connections in DC, Jeff City, and locally. He will be a force to be reckoned with.

  19. TONY:

In order to retain YOUR credibility, you really should consider if a particular story really is "nuke-worthy".

The nuclear explosion you showed is one of your best. Don't waste the impact of your nuclear explosions on inconsequential nothings like this.

  20. A consultant?! On what? How to make friends and influence people? How to succeed in business without really trying? Will he promote his eco-devo expertise, such as Citadel Plaza. To quote Mr. T...pity the fool who throws money Riley's way.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Great move Sly now he can use your appointment to help his new business. A thief is a thief is a thief. Sly is showing what he is made of.

    ReplyDelete
  22. We've already retained Terry and call him what you want he gets things heard and accomplished. He's now the go to African American in this region.

    ReplyDelete
  23. 10:48: He's calling himself a consultant anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  24. If you don't have any clients, youre not a consultant. You're between gigs. Just sayin.

Me, I'm consulting the Social Security Administration. Keep votin Republican and you'll end up shaggin' grocery store carts in your old age. Again, just sayin.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Terry Riley is the real deal. Anyone on the wrong side of him should be rethinking their strategy.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I see Terry Riley is on commenting today.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Terry Riley is the former this and that and cuurently on one committee or another, all non-paying "jobs". How is he earning a living? When you see comments like some on this page about how "powerful" Riley is, it sounds as though his gig is shaking people down, or at least trying to.
Oh, that IS what he's trying to do!
Without a job in the James administration, Riley is yesterday's news. Until another do-nothing political position opens up and then, there he'll be.
Maybe nobody would notice if he and Jonas Hughes BOTH served in the legislature in the same seat simultaneiously.

    ReplyDelete
  28. TERRY RILEY "AIN'T" SHIT!!! his dumb ass couldn't spell cat if you spotted him the c and the t!!! He hits on female servers while his country ass wife breast feeds at the restaurant table. He actually thought tsunami meant a new deli meat from Chicago. Since the Etax passed, Cordish, kaufmann, the plaza, and Terry will all get paid in some way. GUARANTEED!!! so the next time Terry threatens you Tony...ask him to identify the federal agency that his fed friends are from. He will ask you.....what does "a gen c" mean?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Tony, Riley doesn't have "many supporters and friends." He only has those people that he has bled for cash in exchange for his votes on certain issues. He did not play a major role in the E-tax campaign, because he does not have a constituency that he can deliver. Hell, he probably didn't even vote in the election himself. His "impressive list of contacts" would be more impressive if any of those people would actually return his calls. Having a Rolodex of numbers of people who hate your guts is hardly considered great access.

Terry is hardly the go-to anything, except maybe the go-to thug or the on-call bully. He's worthless, through and through.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Mark my words... Terry O'Riley has NO friends among the feds. People who are looking to indict you are certainly not your friends. If Riley is stupid enough to throw out comments about his so-called fed friends tracking TKC commenters, he is even dumber and more ridiculous than he normally appears. What a loser.

    ReplyDelete
  31. 7:33am agree hee hee, he needs to do some more duplicating contracts with the city.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Riley is most powerful (in office) than out. He is an active campaigner if paid enough and can get the job done, meaning the task not necessarily the win. He is better than Freedom Inc. and would actually be good for their organization as leader. He could restore their clout. They are too busy feeding the heir apparents to do the smart thing. Terry has always walked the line of ethics though and like many before him from the 5th and 3rd, have gone unpunished.
