Lets think about this . . .
It has been a tough election cycle on the 3rd District.
Now Jermaine Reed and Sharon Sanders Brooks (SSB) are facing off.
Behind the scenes this is what we hear: A great many people are coming to City Council Incumbent Sharon Sanders Brooks and offering their tacit support in order not to piss her off.
Jermaine Reed has support but so much of it is coming from outside The 3rd. When it comes down to it, neither The Star nor the Ward Parkway crowd can dictate the election outcome in this part of KC . . . That's probably a good thing.
But most interesting off all and by taking a quick look at the campaign rally promo for Mr. Reed this weekend . . . There seems to be a very real effort to connect Jermaine's campaign to Sly James election hopes. Obviously, this works out better for Mr. Reed than Mr. James.
There are also reports of a KPRT radio commercial with Sly James as part of the tag line . . . A lot of people have heard it, I'm working on getting the audio but I don't normally listen to gospel music.
Anyhoo . . .
KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS ARE ASKING: IS JERMAINE REED GOING TO LOSE THIS RACE FOR SLY JAMES?!?!?
While Mr. Reed and SSB still slug it out in the 3rd District . . . Aligning too closely with either candidate is an overall net loss for the Sly James Mayoral campaign given that he needs EVERY, SINGLE, VOTE in the 3rd.
TKC Fact Check: Jermaine Reed is a brilliant young man who is going to have a lot of success in the future, but this election cycle might not be his time. I certainly don't want to tangle with SSB or her many, multi-colored hats and as we get closer to crunch time . . . I can't blame the young man for looking for a bit of help.

ReplyDeleteJermaine Reed has his virtues, but "brilliance" is not one of them. He is not smart at all. An improvement over SSB, in that he's not a mean vindictive evil bitch, but not the least bit intelligent.

ReplyDelete6:16: Because SSB is also not smart at all. And she's a mean, vindictive, evil bitch. In a contest between two not-smart people, the one who isn't mean and evil is definitely the better choice and a (marginal) improvement for a district (where I live) that needs dramatic improvement.

ReplyDeleteAnd Reed won't lose James the election in the 3rd District, because the turnout will be very low as usual. The election for mayor will be won in the 6th District and along the Ward Parkway corridor, as usual.
The residents of the 3rd District will continue to lose.
Isn't buying people's round of bowling if they vote for Jermaine, buying a vote? I mean what's the difference between that and buying a beer or a car? It's buying a vote.
