TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATE ED PACE CRASHES A GATHERING OF THE KANSAS CITY YOUNG DEMOCRATS!!!

According to KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS, a couple of days ago the turn-out for a Kansas City Young Democrats meeting was sparse and loudly punctuated by aspiring politico Ed Pace.
We're gonna give Mr. Pace an opportunity to respond on this one . . . But there was just no way I was going to sit on this story.
So . . .
From what I gather, a couple of days ago . . .
4TH DISTRICT AT-LARGE CANDIDATE ED PACE SCARED THE HELL OUT OF THE KANSAS CITY YOUNG DEMOCRATS WITH A FEW LOUD COMMENTS AND A GREAT MANY CHALLENGES TO THEIR ORGANIZATION!!!
According to TKC TIPSTERS Mr. Pace noted . . .
That the Kansas City Young Democrats were all white.
Mr. Pace questioned the efficacy of the group and claimed that their efforts didn't accomplish much.
Mr. Pace concluded his remarks by claiming that the group was part of Kansas City's problem and that he probably wouldn't be elected because of his lack of social and political connections coupled by his humble upbringing and the fact he's an African-American male running in a predominately white district - Even if it is At-Large.
THE GROUP OF KANSAS CITY YOUNG DEMOCRATS WAS SHOCKED TO SAY THE LEAST!!!
In fact, they were more than offended by the remarks of Pace even though their meetings are open to the public and invite as much community participation as possible.
For what it's worth, I don't really doubt the claims on this one since TKC was witness to a rather heated debate that Pace had with Libertarian Sean O'Toole and the conversation sounds like it falls along the same lines.
Now it's up to Ed if he wants to respond but without question, he certainly made an impression with the group and it probably wasn't a good one.
Way to win friends and influence people, Ed. Not that the self-proclaimed "new school" candidates really care.
ReplyDeleteThis is the hallmark of relatively tiny neo-libertarian, neo-anarchist wing of American politics -- Arrogance. Already got all the answers. Too bad if you are too dumb to agree.
They are right, everybody else is wrong. Don't need nobody.
Since we have non-partisan municipal elections in KC, would it not be a violation if the young Dems or Blunt Youth, intervened in city elections?
ReplyDeleteAn opinion or endorsement is hardly an intervention. Or are we all supposed to just sit in the corner and shut up and let our benevolent rulers have their way with us?
ReplyDeleteits good to know Tony is posting interns as "tipsters" these days.
ReplyDeleteYou have really moved up on the scale Tony.
Hardly news. Sounds like Pace's is jut an angry guy who talks loudly like his mama to get attention.
ReplyDeleteThe best think you could have done, IMHO, Tee, is to have ignored both the young democrats and this noisy clown. I expect neither will amount to anything unless you make something of them.
Tony fails to reveal his source is working on a campaign against Ed Pace. Classic Tony fashion.
ReplyDeleteRadioman, your comment regarding Maurice momma a loud mouth and Maurice a clown was way over the line. Realizing that you only wabt attebtionm stick ti the fact Ed Pace is expressing the truth.
ReplyDeleteSo Mase got Tony to support the other Mr.Ed Anne! Way to go Tony.!
ReplyDeleteRadioman, your comment regarding Ed's momma a loud mouth and Ed a clown was way over the line. Realizing that you only wabt attention! stick to the fact Ed Pace is expressing the truth.
ReplyDeleteTell me this guy is just trick-or-treating as one of the Wayans brothers.
ReplyDeleteTell me why Tony thinks Anne's interns are credible tipsters.
ReplyDeleteActually, 8:17am anon hit the nail on the head.
ReplyDeleteResidents and voters in KCMO are supposed to just shut up, not vote, pay their taxes, and leave the splitting up of the pie to their self-appointed leaders.
Why change a system that's worked so well (for a handful of insiders) for the last fifty years?
MASE IS A REAL ASS!!! MASE NO WONDER YOU SUCK ON ASS HOLES.
ReplyDeleteEd, here's a clue.
ReplyDeleteIt is much easier to pull someone down than to pull yourself up.
But when you try and pull somebody down, you acknowledge they are sitting higher than you.
That was a juvenile, stupid stunt that speaks for itself.
An endorsement is an intervention. The Democrat clubs should stay out of city races or face legal consequences.
ReplyDeletePlease tony is on Crawford's nuts. Tony make up your mind. Why did you kick Ed Pace out of your Starwars bar scene slate? Did he diss your pink haired honey or did she like him better than you? You know what they say once you go Pace..I mean black.....?
ReplyDeleteMASE IS A REAL ASS!!! MASE NO WONDER YOU SUCK ON ASS HOLES.

I would be more than happy to debate you or anyone else about my principles, as long as it is done so in a public setting. It has been made abundantly clear that this blog does not have the atmosphere for intelligent exchanges of ideas and so forth. One can disagree ideologically but be respectful and hospitable. The comment by the blogger reflects all but that. It is also evident that the commentator presents positions about candidates in the municipal race and other city matters that are subjective rather than objective. It is your blog and therefore your prerogative to do so.
ReplyDeleteThe dialogue that occurred between myself and the group of libertarians was in some respect fruitful. I injected into the conversation my radical critique of the power structure and the dominate culture and its respective institutions. And I did so unapologetically. The reactions from this exercise was fascinating to me. I regret knowing that you were intimidated by me.
As for the gathering of the so-called democrats. I don't necessarily want to respond to an unreliable source that made those assertions. I would venture to guess that the person who was reportedly afraid of me was actually there to disrupt the group. The comments expressed by Miss anonymous were of no substance, at all. I would like to know how this "...African-American male running in a predominately white district..." frightened the all white group of young democans--i mean democrats(sometimes they are indistinguishable)???HMMM That's a classic case of...[fill in the blank].
What I said at that informal meeting was of a factual nature. If the people there didn't like what I had to say or want to refuse to accept my interpretation of the FACTS, then perhaps groups like that are a part of the problem. Moreover, when you profess democratic values I question why you would scurry away from a meeting of supposed democrats, to report your version of what took place, to a conservative and arguably misogynistic blogger, without having the maturity to confront the person yourself.
Oswald Bates has spoken!
ReplyDeleteWhich was it, Ed?
ReplyDeleteFACTS or your "interpretation of the FACTS"?
Good response!
ReplyDeleteWho is Ed Pace again?
this is interesting. The response I just attempted to submit is not on the blog.
ReplyDeletePlay fair or you will be asked to sit in the dunce chair again...
Fact: Scientist have noticed Migration irregular migration patterns for land as well as sea creatures.
ReplyDeleteThis fact has been interpreted by two competing camps. The confused conservatives claim that this fact cannot be attributed to global warming or climate change. The earth has experienced this shift before and we should not take decisive actions to change this natural course. The lost Left argue that the irregularity of migration patterns is a result of human beings reckless behavior. Failure to change our behavior and innovate will only exacerbate the problem, and possibly lead to our demise.
Does this illustration help with your comprehension?
1. The Young Democrats just started recently. To call a very new group ineffectual is not fair, to say the least.
ReplyDelete2. I know for a fact that African Americans and Hispanics have attended some of their meetings and that some of the member of KCYD support minority candidates (as individuals).
3. To the people who criticised a possible endorsement by the group...all are welcome to attend the meetings. The group wasn't meeting to endorse anyone. Mr. Pace crashed the meeting to complain about their lack of endorsement.
4. To assume that anyone who doesn't endorse him is a racist only confirms that Mr. Pace is the racist.
5. To bust in making ugly, insulting accusations is not the quality I want to see in an elected official. Having observed Mayor Funky and his wife's behavior, I'll be damned if I will elect someone who doesn't have common courtesy and manners.
6. I do not know one young Democrat, either a member of this group or not, who is a racist. Mr. Pace, your assinine name calling is ridiculous and unfounded.
Ed, focus your time elsewhere. Tony's source was an intern that works for Anne's campaign. You have no reason to waste time making statements on this blog to people who already have their mind made up. At the end of the day, Tony is going to take his payment from _________, and support who they say.
ReplyDelete6:37 I am 6:17. I was leaning strongly towards voting for Pace until this incident. I am now definitely not voting for him. To assume that everyone on here had already made up their mind or was a member of an opponent's campaign is pretty arrogant and absolutely incorrect. You and Pace are both totally clueless and immature.
ReplyDeleteEd Pace is a good man and was a great neighbor. Anonymous online comments are worth nothing and only prove the people making these accusations do not have enough integrity to back them up.
ReplyDeleteThe idea that Ed's ideas "scared the hell out of the Kansas City Young Democrats" tells me that he is probably right to point out the lack of color in the group.
To: All TKC readers and Anonymous who posted at 10:31am/12:29pm,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Mase Hakes and from the looks of things I am being pin pointed as Tony's unnamed source… Sorry to disappoint but these claims are false. First of all, I was not in attendance at the mentioned Young Democrats meeting, nor was I aware that Edward allegedly yelled at the group in attempt to frighten an endorsement out of them. I personally find these claims hard to believe, as I have known Mr. Pace to be a very level-headed, kind, and respectful person. That being said I do not doubt that Mr. Pace could have gotten over zealous when he was speaking to the group of democrats, but I strongly dispute that he intended to frighten anyone.
Second, if you know me or frequent my facebook, it is no secret that I support Anne McGregor for the 4th district’s at large seat. But I am not an intern for her campaign nor am I employed by her in any way, shape or form. I volunteer and support her in her race, but I have not and do not intend to take part in any mudslinging in this election. So, like I said, if anyone thinks that I disclosed this news to Tony’s KC, I’m sorry, but I’m going to have to disappoint you.
And lastly, to whoever posted the comment “MASE IS A REAL ASS!!! MASE NO WONDER YOU SUCK ON ASS HOLES.” at 10:31am and 12:29pm. I challenge you to step up and say that to my face. Don’t hide behind an “Anonymous” screen name like a coward. Be confidant and take accountability for what you say. If you truly feel that way about me, I want to know why. Have I done something to you in the past? Do you disagree with my politics? Or do you just not like the fact that I’m gay? Whatever your reason may be, step up to the plate. Send me an email, give me a call, or message me on my facebook account. If I have truly done something bad enough for you to harbor these feelings towards me, I want to know so I can take responsibility for my actions and make amends.
We will never get anywhere if all we do is spread rumors, point fingers, and distort the truth. We must strive for excellence in life, and except nothing less than for our leaders to do the same.
~Mase Hakes
Hilarious. I know Ed Pace too. He's cool and probably never even raised his voice.
ReplyDeleteEd Pace spoke the truth he has my vote.
ReplyDeleteGive them hell Mr. Pace!
ReplyDeleteMase Hakes,
That was a very nice comment. Like Mr. Pace, I know what its like to frighten cowards, unintentionally.
Being large, loud & poor; it happens a lot.
Also, I salute you for being openly gay. My best friend is openly gay, so I know how brave that really is.
Mase your comments were great and showed that YOU have class, in contrast to most of the bloggers who post here.
ReplyDeleteWho is Ed Pace?
ReplyDeleteSo does this mean it would be appropriate for a white man to bust in on a meeting of all black people and yell at them for not having any white folks in the room? I'm an African American and I don't even think Pace did the right thing. And what did he accomplish other than offend some well-intentioned young Democrats?
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't supposed to be a meeting of all white people. It was supposed to be a meeting of the young Democrats.
ReplyDelete1/7/11 6:42 AM- your ass is confused-first you state a meeting of all black people, then you state you are African American-make up your min. See people lie all the time don't they Mase?
