The contest between Will "Wild Man" Royster and J.J. "You Know My Dad" Rizzo is heating up.

THERE'S A HOT MESS OVER AN AFL-CIO STAMP USED BY WILL ROYSTER'S CAMPAIGN!!!
At the top of this post is a segment of a Royster Mailer with the aforementioned AFL-CIO stamp. Supporters of J.J. remind voters that Rizzo The Younger is the only candidate in this race endorsed by The Greater Kansas City AFL-CIO and this "stamp" has been done intentionally to mislead voters.
The President of The Greater Kansas City AFL-CIO Pat Dujakovich agrees with J.J. Rizzo and has sent a cease and desist letter to the Royster Camp. Check it:
In the interest of equal time, I called a couple or Royster supporters on this one.
Their arguments:
1. Royster is a member of the National AFL-CIO and the stamp is a reflection of this fact.
2. Royster was urged to place the stamp on his mailers by members of the AFL-CIO who didn't agree with the decision of their leadership.
I'll leave it to you d-bags to decide this one given that the only thing this slapfight confirms for me is that I don't really like either option in this race.

ReplyDeleteThat's like someone from a military unit based out of Kansas City getting mad because a candidate who wasn't based out of Kansas City wore his uniform in a photo. The AFL-CIO is a lot larger than Kansas City and hosts a lot of unions. Deal with it. Unless someone can tell me this Royster guy isn't a card carrying union member I say that the Pat Dujakovich guy was just doing his friend Henry Rizzo a favor.

I've known Chris Moreno for about five years now and think he is a great guy, a great friend and a great dad. I've met his family and they couldn't be more proud of him. Keep up the great work Chris!!

ReplyDeleteWhat I can say is that unlike people on this blog I have actually spoken with the Governor about Chris Moreno's work and he spoke highly of Mr. Moreno. All of the people that I've met in the quote unquote "political circle" around the state also say the same. I'll take their word for it.

...but that's not true. I've seen him at a few Indian Mound Neighborhood meetings and they keep an attendance log, so if it's that important to you, it's verifiable. He was also in attendance at the SOAP/SODA meeting at Melrose Methodist, which I also believe they had a sign in sheet.
Royster was in attendance at the right sizing meeting at NEHS, but I didn't see Rizzo. That doesn't mean he wasn't there. I just didn't see him.
