TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! ARIZONA HATE NOW CONCERNS KANSAS CITY IN THE CASE OF IMMIGRANT RIGHTS ACTIVIST YAHAIRA CARRILLO!!!

The story of a local immigration activist who has run into trouble is circulating around the Kansas City Latino Community like wildfire:

Yahaira Carrillo, Kansas/Missouri DREAM Alliance founder, has spent years organizing around immigrant rights and the DREAM Act, and when enforcement became unacceptable in Arizona, she decided it was time to take the greatest risk of all. She put herself in danger of deportation in order to challenge immigration law that denies civil rights, freedom, equality, and humanity by staging a sit-in at Senator John McCain's Tucson Office along with three other undocumented student leaders. ICE and Border Patrol remain waiting outside and will be taking them into detention.

KSMODA will be holding a press conference, Tuesday, May 18th, at 11:30AM regarding this subject.

Location:

Jesuscristo

4925 St. John Ave, Kansas City, MO.

2. Join the Immigrant Justice Advocacy Movement (IJAM) for a prayer vigil, Tuesday night at 7PM. Location: 2nd Presbyterian Church, 55th & Oak Street, Kansas City, MO.

Carrillo is someone with a great many connections to local leaders and look for some pushback from local Latinos on this activist treated like a criminal simply for a peaceful protest which is completely unacceptable given that "illegally" crossing the border is an offense that's akin to jaywalking.

What's happening in this situation is more significant than petty border politics played out for votes . . .

LATINOS BOTH ILLEGAL AND CITIZEN ARE BEING SCAPEGOATED AND THE BOND BETWEEN THESE TWO GROUPS IS STRENGTHENING!!!

Rampant racial profiling and vitriol from The Tea Party has attacked one of the most dynamic and fastest growing ethnic groups in the nation and even in Kansas City we're starting to see an increased reaction and response to anti-Latino hate that is aimed at both illegal Latinos and Citizens alike.

Developing . . .

  3. I would like to see this scenario reversed in Mexico. I am sure Tony's non-union Mexican counterpart would be defending the immigrants rights...

  8. Yes, to emma!

7:25 am - They didn't come here legally because they can't. A lot of the people facing deportation came here as children. They were brought here by their parents who were only trying to find a better life for their children.

Class warfare is okay, if you cloak it in racism?

    ReplyDelete
  9. well emma, that was when we bought or stole the entire western united states for a song and had lots of space.

Now they just want free health care and to annex the country back.

That's just bullshit. They want a job & a safe place to raise their children. Just like everyone else.

  11. Immigrant rights? What rights don't legal immigrants have? Well, if they're not yet citizens, I suppose they can't vote. If they are citizens, they can't be elected president...but they could be a senator, congressman, cabinet member, etc.

Oh, you're talking about ILLEGAL immigrant rights! Well, they have the right to be treated humanely after they are arrested and as they wait to be deported. That is the only right they have.

  12. My future daughter-in-law, Maria, is Latino. I don't know if she's legal or illegal, & I don't care. I do know that if any racist pig tries to take her from us, they will have to fight me first, & I'm not the pussy my brother is.

  13. Why do these people not get it. They are here illegally. We need to close our borders and remove these law breaking scumbags. Also, we should not gibe in state tuition to kids of illegals.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Byron: Why don't you care if she is illegal? What a fool you are. Do you think you are being tolerant or caring?

  15. Yada, Yada, Yada.

    Latinos making up crimes now.

Politician's sucking up to a racial group where over half can't even vote. I'm sure that'll work. Ask Fidel how much they have helped him.

Why would I care if she's illegal?

She's the nicest person her age that I have ever met. This is who is being targeted.

The immigration laws were written by rich, white men.

  17. I just want to take care of my Children, Byron.. so you won't mind if I stop by with una pistola and shake you down for your share of my health insurance this month!

And your house is nicer than mine, so you won't mind if we just spend the summer there. We can just double up. I just want a nice place for my kids, like anybody else! So I'm sure you'll share like a good socialist.

Why does everyone think its always their taxes? Why isn't it the taxes paid by illegals that fund health care services for illegals.

You wouldn't like WV. Our young people are not taught racism.

The middle class in this country is becoming hysterical.

  19. Go ICE Go... three more d-bags down. 30 million to go. Tony why do you keep referring to the Arizona law as a hate law. Hate against crime perhaps. But not hate against a people like you keep claiming. Plus, what does the Tea Party members have to do this the Arizona law. This is the only place where I ever see the two combined like you do.

Let's just admit it. You HATE white people, so anything they do to protect themselves you hate. You the biggest biggot in Kansas City. You do nothing for race relations in this city or country. If anything you drive the wedge deeper between all races.

    ReplyDelete
  20. The middle class in this country is being SCREWED! Hysterical will only be effective if we stop getting screwed by the very rich and the very poor.

Fact is, we're pulling the whole wagon. Not just taxes. Health care premiums, school taxes, uninsured driving, watered down curricula, crime, all the other stuff that goes along with undergrounders.

They don't pay enough taxes to pull their weight unless maybe they're into illegal drugs.

You need to quit hand-wringing and romanticizing that they sneaked in and tell them to get in line and pay their dues like the rest of us who have to play by the rules.

We do indeed need the federal government to catch up with some solutions besides just a one way paddywagon trip to the border.

We need national photo/thumbprint ID cards linked up to SSecurity, proof of origination /citizenship / work permit, yada yada.

I don't know why you have a beef. But you dodged my comments about people who think they have squatters rights to what you have.

I'm just sayin that people who have an entitlement mentality will suck every nickel from you and your OWN children.

  25. I think it's fair to say most people whining about the Arizona law have not even read it. It's not all what is being portrayed by opponents. If you believe illegals should not be deported then you must understand that your opinion is not consistent with federal law. Surely you understand that open borders cannot be sustained.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I guess we should abandon the rule of law. You can enter the country illegally. That is okay. Should we excuse minor offenses now too? Can you drive just a little bit drunk? Can you steal just a little bit from the charity where you work? Can you park just a little bit on someone's lawn? Can you piss just a little bit in the church parking lot after service?

I mean, if we don't give a damn about laws, why bother?

Byron, why don't you start the "legal" immigration process for your future daughter in law? Shell out the bucks for a lawyer and pay the INS fees. Otherwise, just wait until they find her and it's too late. You pick!

  30. i don't give 2 shits about the 'bond' between illegal and legal mexicans. if you are caught harboring illegals you should be stripped of your citizenship as well and sent right the fuck back to beanland. there is no room in this country for people who come here illegally. if you hate the law in AZ so much, go home to mexico! that same law is coming to Missouri soon, probably Kansas too. We are tired of you leeches, you disease carrying catholics that multiply like rats. fuck you and fuck your filthy crime ridden country. we don't want your filth up in here.

  33. If anything will get the fence built and a lot of state laws passed, it will be that movie.

Are we to learn that Mexico is to the US as Iran is to Israel?

I was certainly struck by someone else's comment that says this illegal alien stuff is ruining America by turning it into Mexico.

I don't see these underground immigrants (politely called 'undocumented') loving America when they wave the Mexflag.

They love our good life and don't have the leadership to build their own. A whole country with self esteem problems.

I'd be nice if the crooked politicians, world's richest man in the phone business down there, and the drug cartels building some schools and starting some honest businesses to employe their workers.

We could turn a lot of that around by jailing US employers for hiring them, but first the government needs to get their 'papers' forgery resistant.

    ReplyDelete
  34. We made it illegal for Mexicans to come here, so that we could call them "illegals" & deport them when it suited us. But, let's wait until the crops come in?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Isn't that what H&R Block did? Ya never do layoffs until the crops are in.

That's not stinkin thinkin. Thats bid-ness.
