DEB HERMANN HITS FUNKHOUSER!!!

The outgoing Council Lady is rumored to be running for Mayor and earlier today she took Mayor Funky apart with some pointed comments that seem on point.
"Events as those described in (Star reporter) Matt Campbell's article diminish the credibility of elected officials and further erode the confidence of our citizens in their city government."

"Most upsetting is that these intemperate remarks were directed at volunteers. Volunteers are the backbone of many great Kansas City organizations and institutions."

"Over the past two years, the Parks and Recreation Department, as other City departments, has endured heartbreaking budget reductions in staff and other resources. Through it all, our volunteer Park Commissioners kept faith with the oath they swore to the citizens of Kansas City. They and their highly professional staff did not react in anger or frustration. They simply tried to do more with less. For that they deserve praise."

"Serious issues require serious people, people who can confront problems and disagreement with integrity, civility and respect for one another. I applaud the four Park Commissioners who responded yesterday with dignity and civility. I thank them for their tireless volunteer service, in good times and bad, to the city we love."
TKC Note: When white ladies feel free to use the Mayor as a punching bag . . . All hope for re-election is lost.

  1. The Mayor will come in last, that's if he foolish enough to run. The good ole boy's against Deb. I will have to bet on Deb. Deb got rid of Cauthen. Deb just needs to stay away from the downtown crowd(mob). They got KC in the mess we are in today. No 1,000 room hotel.

  2. As a Volunteer for Youth Services I quit today. The Mayor is on his own.
I've got better things to do besides listen to him insult my time and effort.

  3. ALBANY - The state’s top cop is out after just seven days on the job, the fourth victim to succumb to the scandals swirling around Gov. Paterson.

State Police First Deputy Superintendent and interim boss Pedro Perez abrubtly announced his retirement yesterday, a week after former chief Harry Corbitt quit March 3 to flee the mushrooming firestorm.

Like New YorK... somebody needs to investigate KCPD and all the recent Police Shootings. Why is the Murder and rape rates so high for a town this small?

  8. Tacky, Tacky Tacky - He's just plain tacky! It's going to take years to regain a modicum of our dignity and credibilty. Miss Manners is ashamed of you Funk, we're sending you to etiquette classes.

  11. I hope the Deb Herman bandwagon doesn't hit any major bumps in the road (ie find out she's a criminal or cheating on her huband) because I want to vote for her. I guess it's just a rumor now that she's running for mayor. But reading that statement, I hope she gets in and soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. She need to go to college first!

  13. 6:27 may be painfully correct. While I do not know that much about Mrs. Herman, is it a stretch to say that if there is a leadership position in a billion dollar corporation you might want someone with a relevant educational background for that position? Well our city is a billion dolloar entity that is in need of serious leadership. No offense to Mrs. Herman... I am just saying.

  14. I agree with the above comments. Deb Hermann would also be an embarrasement to our city. We need someone who can speak correct grammatically and have a professional appearance. After Funk, we need someone with some sense of dignity and professionalism.

  15. Deb Hermann might not have a college degree (neither does Bill Gates), but she is articulate, thoughtful and sensible. She will do what's right for this city. Kay had a college background and borrowed us into near oblivion. Do you forget that Funk has a Ph.D.? Formal education is no guarantee of leadership... look at the loser lawyers on the council? Deb is smart and has common sense, and she loves Kansas City. She is more than qualified to be mayor, and she has my vote.

  16. Deb dooesn't care about the city-she cares about whats in it for her and how can she look better. Remember the CAN office she had in her neighborhood back in the late 90's? She had these officers running personal errands and using them to run background checks on individuals living in her neighborhood. She is a crook and took loads of money in a payout with Huntmidwest so that her little groupies and her can live high on the hog while others had their home cracked and backyards fall apart and sink. Let her run....I would love for all her skeletons to come out! How fun-finally, someone can put an end to her reign.
