TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! NORTHLAND TROY SCHULTE FANS WANT TO KEEP THE SMELL OF GLORIA SQUITIRO'S FEET AWAY FROM THE ACTING CITY MANAGER!!!

There's an internal struggle going on right now in the Kansas City political scene that not many people want to acknowledge but it may determine the course of the next mayoral election.
KANSAS CITY NORTHLAND POLITICOS WANT TO DISTANCE ACTING CITY MANAGER TROY SCHULTE FROM THE FAILED ADMINISTRATION OF CO-MAYORS FUNKY AND SQUITIRO!!!
By all accounts, Troy Schulte is a skilled City Hall worker with a solid rep. Even Former City Manager Wayne Cauthen's supporters expressed a bit of relief that Schulte was taking over the job.
City Hall insiders know that Schulte's role had to be secured by The Council in order to garner enough "YES" votes to oust Cathen . . . Which included the Mayor's voice at the last minute.
But now as Mayor Funky desperately reaches for re-election there's an interesting divide between The Northland and The Mayor that has heretofore gone untold.
GLORIA SQUITIRO IS DOING HER BEST TO CLAIM SCHULTE'S REPUTATION IN SERVICE OF THE MAYOR'S REELECTION CAMPAIGN!!! AND NOW SHE'S GETTING SOME PUSHBACK!!!
In the pivotal Darla Jaye Interview Gloria Squitiro called Schulte "The Mayor's City Manager."
In a recent newsletter Squitiro seemingly referred to Schulte as part of the Mayor's "new team" and touted the Mayor's pathetic tag-a-long role on a bond rating tour in order to duck tragic KC statistical data that revealed his complete lack of leadership.
A chat with a Northland politico revealed the strategy to me as the Co-Mayor effort to ride "on the coattails of competence."
From what I hear Schulte lives in the Northland and the contingent that put him in office definitely makes their home across the river . . . So it's interesting that the group who put this power play together now no longer sees the Mayor as necessary to their success. More importantly, among Kansas City politicos the word is out: Schulte isn't the Mayor's homeboy.
Look for astute Mayoral Candidates to ingratiate themselves to goodwill Schulte has going for him in the Northland as the Mayor and his shoeless wife desperately cling to any semblance of credibility they can find.

Inside baseball. Bleh.
The Mayor has NO team. Just the Mayor and Gloria. The Mayor is a not a lame duck but a dead duck. The Mayor just is grasping just like his phony schools first proposals.
Interesting that the Orange Revolution in the Ukraine died over the weekend for the same reason Funk's "Orange revolution" died shortly after his election: arrogance, ingratitude, and incompetence.
Isn't it time for the Council to do something right for a change and eliminate the "Acting" from Troy's title?
Keep Troy Schulte as "acting city manager" better than the full office. Schulte is part of the city hall problem. Another insider trying to look like an "outsider" .... a Northland one at that!
squit's big feet just keep getting in her way.
At least we have a great City Council.
Maybe we should banish Steve Glorioso and Gloria Squitiro from KC, sending them to the Funky cabin until May of 2011? Then maybe the mayor & council could get something done? I can't wait to see all of these buffoons duke it out in the upcoming 2011 elections.
Schulte made the bed, now he has to sleep with Squid in it.
Too much As* kissing and the good Ole boy network at city hall.
We need to vote for a clean slate in the next election.
We also need to put KCPD under city control.
Funk may have his problems, but being successful isn't one of them.
1:18 - we have to have good candidates running a new slate to vote them in. This is a City that complains, but doesn't run for the seat.
Schulte is NOT the mayors homeboy, he is LOuie Wrights homeboy!
We were all thrilled to see Cauthen go, and happy to see Troy appointed. But it's the same old story, people being promoted and hired by the color of their skin and their gender. You would think after the lawsuit with the white female lawyer that won the city would learn their lesson, but no. Just wait, more to come.
