TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! SUSPENDED CITY MANAGER WAYNE CAUTHEN CLEANED OUT HIS OFFICE!!!

Here's a bit of hope for bright-eyed Kansas City optimists who mistakenly think this town is capable of progress.

KICKASS TKC TIPSTERS SAY THAT SUSPENDED CITY MANAGER WAYNE CAUTHEN RECENTLY REMOVED HIS PERSONAL BELONGINGS FROM HIS OFFICE!!!

Could this be a glimmer of hope that Kansas City doesn't have to go through a horribly divisive public hearing that will only serve to waste time and dishearten local political denizens?

I doubt it. He probably just wanted his office toys back.

Nevertheless, City Hall is just a tiny bit cleaner today as this town waits on the next unproductive local government drama.

Good riddance to this rubbish.

Cauthen was hired by the last council to develop downtown. He did his job. It was the directives of the previous council and OUR stupid votes that got us into our current financial mess. And this same mess was the impetus to elect the squirrely funkhouser.
I am glad that Cauthen has been suspended. He is no longer effective in our current economic climate. I object to the WAY he was removed. funkhouser is a shoddy mayor. He treats everyone with contempt. I suspect that the blows he took as a kid are the reasons for his self loathing.
The Waynettes are goners. No need for their services

A no vote for Sly James and Mike Burke is a step in the right direction for Kansas City. Both of these attorneys are too hungry for power and a chance at the city coffers. Sure they are empty... now.
We need some one from Kansas City who has deep roots. Some one who knows how city hall REALLY works. Some one who is smarter than a idiot.

Why is this news? When you get fired, you take your stuff with you. Nice job tipster. Can your tipster tell me what goes on a peanut butter and jelly sandwich after the peanut butter or can you figure that out on your own Tony?

Anon. 2:13, it is amusing because it has taken him so dang long to clean out his crap. You're right, you DO take your stuff with you when you get fired. You usually do it in the first few minutes of being fired. Not Cauthen...no, he took a couple of hours to leave, until the media could arrive. Then he missed appointments to pick up his stuff on more than one occasion. So it is news.

Why is everyone upset at the WAY Wayne got fired? He had 13 bosses, 7 didn't like the way he was doing his job. They voted, he's gone. If Terry or John would have know the vote was coming, the would have just been thugs to the other council and tried to steal their vote. Shut up already. Why did Wayne fire so many department directors when he first arrived? Why did so many employees get layed-off? Because they pissed of their department director. Where is the concern for everyone else?

Cauthen is just the victim of a long running power battle between the "North of the River Gang" (Councilmembers Hermann and Skaggs mainly) and their special interest groups; and the "Urban Core Gang" (Riley, et. al.)and their special interest groups (developers and their attorneys). The North has won by getting Cauthen kicked out. Now with their boy Troy in the seat (expect a permanent appointment), they can rule the roost and spend tax money as they please to support their vision of the City (mainly focused North of the River).
