On the subject of the sale's impact, some believe it is "significant because the owners of the building were apparently an impediment to new businesses on that block trying to get liquor licenses since they would fight it and the city requires a unanimous vote or some percentage of businesses to approve. Who knows what the next owner will do."
And what about the the "speakeasy" in the basement? TKC Readers with a sense of history note: "The basement bar was notorious for sexual activity when 1924 Main St. was formerly the Dixie Belle Saloon gay bar."
Interesting thought for the X-mas season given that everything keeps changing . . . Even in this cowtown.

ReplyDeleteThe condo/loft upstairs is supposedly incredible plus it has a rooftop deck and elevator. They've got a guaranteed leasor downstairs in the restaurant. Bet it will go for 1.5 mil or less though.
