Support the Salvation Army because TKC refuses to give those bigoted d-bags a dime!!!

I recently ran across a somewhat cool video online related to the promotion of charitable giving in Kansas City . . . Here's the description:
The video was created to promote the Online Red Kettle program for The Salvation Army in Kansas City, this video was projected on the north walls of the Halls building during the 2009 Kansas City Plaza Lighting Ceremony on Thanksgiving. This was the creative collaboration between two Kansas City originals -- the award-winning creative minds of Bernstein-Rein Advertising and the renowned motion graphics studio MK12.
And then I remembered that the Salvation Army doesn't really get in the holiday spirit for the homos which doesn't seem very Christian but I figure adults can cope with rampant discrimination that exists during the holidays.

And then something hit a bit closer to home . . .
Salvation Army checks residency in toy giveaways - In El Paso, TX Requirements for those getting help from one local organization have some folks wondering if this is an immigration check rather than helping those in need this holiday season.
I know how this works because we've seen it so many times before . . .

BROWN KIDS NEED TO SHOW PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP TO GET ANY HELP EVEN ON A HOLIDAY DEDICATED TOWARD CHRISTAN VALUES!!!

Reactionaries can spout all they want about sovereignty and strengthening the borders and very valid political points that don't mean a thing when it comes to taking away X-mas from a kid because of skin color and a draconian stance toward immigration.

So, I won't be giving a dime to the Salvation Army. Instead, my spare change will be passed on to Downtown Kansas City homeless with the specific request that they treat themselves to a drink. I'm just trying to bring holiday cheer to everyone on without reinforcing oppressive elements of the status quo.

  2. What a bunch of BS the whole idea is about giving..... to people who need help.... regardless of background. Has Christmas gone down the toilet along with the rest of Kansas City?

  3. Good, Tony. This is why I give to lots of charities, but not the Salvation Army.

  7. It's hard to give to charity when you're a charity case your self. Get the hell up outta your mom's basement.

  10. Well, I've noticed most of the bellringers have been told to say something to people coming and going, like "Merry Christmas" to give us materialistic buttheads a bit of a guilt trip.

But hey. We deserve it. These guys aren't CEO's bundled up, ringing their bells in the freezong cold.

COURSE I FEEL GUILTY. I don't even LOOK at price tags. I buy what I want! I'll give to Salvarion Army eventually, but not every time I go shopping. One guy will get my check, and that's my contribution.

Don't diss these folks. They get it far more than most of us do!

  11. Shit if heatens, queers & meskins hate the Salvation Army, I'll work a second jerb thru the holydays and just sign the checks over to 'em.

  12. A Hateful Christmas From Sister Sarah12/8/09, 8:46 PM

The losers have preached hate about LGBT people for decades, so I have not given them a dime for many years.

They also coddled and campaigned for the Bush/Cheney ticket in 2000 including hosting Dick (the Prince of Fucking Darkness) in Kansas City, which was a clear violation of their tax exempt status.

In short, the Salvation Army is a corrupt and hateful racket.

    Close them down.

  13. You da man, TKC, for sticking by your principles!

But, when the Salvation Army sticks by their principles, they're D-Bags???

    Cognitive. Dissonance. TKC.

The Salvation Army is the only charitable org that I donate my time & money towards.

Despite your complaints about their perversion aversion or political posturing, the Salvation Army does the most good, for the most people, than any other organization out there.

  14. This is the most effective charity in KC and do lots and lots of very critically needed things for desperately poor people. Your post was small and short sighted. No one pays any serious attention to you anyway...
    Merry Xmas Tony

  17. A lot of brown kids in my neighborhood are gang bangers. A lot of their parents are undocumented. When they get in trouble with the law they run to Mexico.

They don't pay taxes, they fill the schools with their kids, no one learns english, according to the local clergy they don't even give money to the churches.

I wish the whole lot would just be sent back.

  18. Yeah the Salvation Army has turned into the cesspool of a quasi governmental wasteland of inefficiency.

I give my donations to my church that gives and uplifts the downtrodden, preaches love for the mis-directed and unfortunate people who follow the LGBT lifestyle. There is salvation even for them at some point in time.

We'll accept who you are if you will accept God's word.
    Even you Tony.

  19. Yes, jingoism is a terrible thing, unless you're republican of course. Those commie leeberal world order people need to be locked up.

Conservatives like JINGLEISM though...gold coins especially!

BTW a friend of mine in investments says buying gold is an investment only for stupid people. Yet all the white wing talk show people are hawking gold on their radio shows. Go fig that!

Buy now, while the price is high!

  20. Why doesn't someone ask the Salvation Army why it leases luxury cars for its officers? Do they really NEED a leased Lexus?

Radioman: we all have friends with differing opinions, why is your friend's opinion more valid than any other?

Sounds like my ex stepfather's arguments. They went something like this: "I'm right and you're stupid." Guess you can't argue with an idiot! Wasn't that a book title or something?? ;)

  21. you're absolutely right on this one, Tony, on both counts--the gays and Hispanics.

If they can't be "Christian" (read: charitable, loving, open, unselfish, non-judgemental, etc.) at Christmas, they surely don't need my money.

There are plenty of other worthy and less-bigoted people and organizations out there, for sure.

    As said above, Feliz Navidad,

    Mo Rage

  22. So, illegal alien children should receive toys in a time when we can barely take care of Americans children. Black, white, hispanic and LEGAL immigrants deserve to be served first!

I'm gay and dislike illegal aliens invading the country
