I heard the 1st local Liberty On The Rocks meeting went well last night.
They had more than a dozen people who attended in this cold-ass crazy weather . . . AND all of those folks stayed for nearly two hours!!!
Here's the deal, it's definitely a centre-right group but the lack of speakers or a defined agenda leaves it open to ideologies of all kinds. Organizer Patrick Tuohey hopes that a diverse group of "Liberty enthusiasts" (or whatever) will show up to the monthly meetings . . . Including but not limited ACLU dweebs and maybe some neighborhood folks.
It's hard not to be impressed that such a great turnout came about during a snow storm that scared the hell out of everybody and maybe it's a sign that Kansas City wants a few more options to get politically involved at the grassroots level.
"Drinking Liberally" is a much better group of people.

ReplyDeleteIs this a libertarian group?
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a wide range of opinion at that meeting. Refreshing. No Bush or Obama genuflecting. Palin was laughed at.
