KANSAS CITY'S STRONGEST: HARDBODY TKC WEEKLY POWER RANKINGS!!!

Here's the deal . . . Even in during the Holiday Season, Kansas City's most powerful people flex their muscles.

This week's list of Kansas City powerful people might make some of us more uncomfortable than watching beautiful bodybuilding babes out-lift the rest of us. Nevertheless, TKC hosts the most accurate ranking of powerful people in Kansas City:

POLITICS

1. Local 42 Union Boss Louie Wright - Like it or not, he is the strongest force in Kansas City politics and during the past two weeks there is no doubt he has been showing everybody in this cowtown exactly who is in charge.

2. Darla Jaye - She's earning more listeners thanks to new PPM rankings and the conservative Pitch Cover Lady is more relevant to the local political scene than any other news talker.

3. Patrick Tuohey - As far as Conservatives in Kansas City politics the guy earns a #1 top ranking. But this is KC Proper after all. Nevertheless, a nice gathering of bar hopping centre-right folks could hold big things in the future for this politico with a refreshing grass roots/neighborhood approach to Conservative local politics.

4. Troy Shulte - No longer a bureaucrat, he's in the field of politics now and he's partnering with Mayor Funky. The strategy earned him his job, good luck with the Mayor Funky alliance in the future!!!

5. Michael Fletcher - Admit it, with his announcement that he's running for 3rd District The Controversial Kansas City Leader Inspired more interest in the City Council than in the past year.

NEWSIES

1. DeAnn Smith - Her groundbreaking story on cold weather school closing delays for KCMO was the first mainstream media indication that the Covington Administration is quickly facing community backlash.

2. Ash-har Quraishi - Recently let go by KCTV5, his departure signals a great loss for local investigative reporting that so many people loved to watch.

3. Larry Moore - The holiday season belongs to this veteran news man as his personality carries TV broadcasts with little content.

4. Erin Little - The least hyperbolic of all local weather newsies has a bun in the oven and demonstrated her power over audiences with nothing more than a simple change-up in wardrobe.

5. Yael T. Abouhalkah - He hasn't been able to gather a crowd at Midwest Voices but he keeps on trying and offering his insights into local sports as well.

PLACES

1. The Well in Waldo - Chris and Andy Lewellen are kicking the ass of every other dive bar in the neighborhood with their winter patio setup. It's nice to see people in that local enclave taking some initiative.

2. K City Coffee - They're hyping the place on Facebook and Twitter, they have a new logo and all of Downtown Kansas City is eager to see what they're going to offer.

3. Jardine's - Packed houses on weekday nights and lots of great acts coming up. They don't advertise on TKC but I have to admit it's pretty much the best place in town to get a gourmet dinner and listen to live local Jazz.

4. The Legends - KCK's plan to lure even more biz away from KC Proper seems to be working.

5. Union Station - Quietly losing money, still nice to look at.

These rankings were determined using precise, scientific data collection methods and a patented public opinion survey process based on mainstream media reporting, Internet content searches and community discussion research.

  6. I would hope that Jardine's would be number one, with as much PR as you're doing for them.

  7. You don't get around much, do ya Tony? I bet Darla will be the first to be automated as a cost cutting move. And deann? You must have a man crush on the assignment editor.

She's not tough enough to be in news. But hey, better than workin fast food. She catches the same disease Erin Little did, she'll be gone because she doesn't make what Erin does.

Sometimes youre smart, soemtimes you're pretty easy to read. I'd say off hand that post was just about namedropping, an easy post before you crash for the weekend.
