TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! SUITS THAT SUPPORTED CAUTHEN STILL ANGRY!!!

Okay . . . I've seen a bit of this other places but not as eloquently as AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS have put it:

Here's a list of just some of the big names that were scurried down to the City Council Session in order to support Cauthen.

Bill Dietrich
John Copaken
Bridget Williams
Steve Dunn
Ed Desoigne
Steve Taylor
Doc Worley

A word from another AWESOME TKC TIPSTER about a member of the Dunn clan making an appearance:
"I found it rather odd that Steve Dunn, one who avoids the spotlight, positioned himself to be quoted in the Star as being dismayed about the Cauthen firing. The news sources stated that there was a contingency of "downtown business leaders" that were at the council proceedings in support of Cauthen. It was also uncharacteristic for Dunn to be caught by the cameras amongst the heckling crowd at Thursday's city hall coup . . . My take is he had no choice. No doubt, Cauthen will be grateful for Dunn's gesture. This will help keep Cauthen's mouth shut should the subjects of the H&R Block project, the Dunn Headquarters building or any other similar project involving Dunn come up in the inevitable hearings. I'm sure Cauthen paved the way clear for Dunn to walk away with millions in the downtown renaissance."
Now, I could give you profiles on each and every one of the rest of these d-bags but if you don't already know them by now then most of what's happening in City Government is probably just gonna confuse you anyway . . . The point of this all is that these folks are big Cowtown biz dudes and they are where Cauthen's support really came from . . . Word is They were PISSED when their boy was let go because that signaled that their gravy train was just about over.

And, for me, this list is important because it demonstrates where Cauthen's support really came from biz people and not the African-American community and the fervor to keep him in office last time around was pretty much just a reaction to a power play by a scumbag (but now powerless) Mayor.

But I digress . . . These biz dudes made lots of crazy talk and even promised to pull their money away from some of politicos behind this decision . . . However, that's not gonna happen and they're probably just letting off steam . . . They'll find somebody new to buy no doubt and it might surprise TKC readers to know that one person on this list already sent me a shout out and made a vague promise about advertising . . . Fortunately, I don't take any.

when all those developers started crying about wayne leaving then i knew that funk was on the right track.

those parasites have been bleeding k.c. for years and they could disappear and we wouldn't miss them.

you would think that they would be more civic minded seeing as they are supposedly very well off.

  4. Is it wrong that I think those suits are awesome?

  5. these guys have been living off wayne, the back door deals and our tax dollars for years. Their gravy train has ended.

  7. I want those suits too -- I mean the ones in the picture, not the ones Tony wrote about.

  8. Tony, full disclosure, please. Who on the list called you? None of them would admit out loud that they know TKC exists. We know though that they are checking in several times a day and it is not to read the articles.

  9. Big money fuels the city races. Marcason, Gottstein, Circo and Johnson have a lot of explaining to do. It is not so much that Cauthen is gone, it is the shady process. It is the lack of working together. It is the national perception of being an unstable government lead by a mentally unstable mayor and wife. Try selling that to businesses across the land. If this was such a good idea, wouldn't the politicians voting "yes" have the wherewithal to refuse to be "peeled away"? There is no dignity in being a wavering punk.

  10. What was shady about the process? It was no secret four of the six people who voted to terminate Wayne wanted him gone. Circo and Marcason stepped up to the plate and did the right thing. Did Ed Ford try working together with his fellow Northland councilpeople when he shoved Wayne's big contract extension down everyone's throats? Have they "worked together" on housing? Have they worked together to help Hermann and Finance and Audit craft a budget? Did they work together to force Cauthen to implement the budgets as they were passed? Did they work together on Citadel? The answer, of course, is no. When the alliances are formed and go their way, everything is fine... when they lose, the race card is played, names are called and threats are made. This wasn't shady, it was politics and it aint always pretty, but that's the way it works and the ones who lost need to get over it. Let's move on and fix this City with a renewed urban core, reduced crime and decent basic services all while practicing fiscal responsibility.

  11. stfu Gloria. There is nothing responsible about you. When you loose you lie. Ed will kick your fat ass you are not smart.

  12. 11:00 said it exactly right. Ed & Terry lost (I won't even waste space on Sharon & Melba). They're mad. The back door deals are over. The City will survive nicely and move forward.

  13. Anon 1:44... sorry to burst your bubble, but I am not Gloria... on the contrary, I am a citizen who watches and reads and understands what is going on.

  14. It's ironic that some so-called citizens celebrate the end of "back-room deals" by celebrating a back-room deal that they can live with.
I am a fan of people who have the courage to stand up to the old political establishment in KCMO. By firing Cauthen, Funkhouser siddled up to the establishment rather than working with a guy that had the guts to take on many politically unpopular things, such as getting rid of HEDFC.
There is nothing to celebrate with the dismissal fo Wayne Cauthen. He was not the best but it took some nasty backroom dealing to get it done. I'm certain that Skaggs, Hermann, Johnson, Circo, Marcason and Funkhouser are capable of even nastier political manuevering.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Sure Skaggs, Hermann, Johnson, etal., did some manuevering. To what end? Their colleagues are mad at them and will probably seek revenge. They sure didn't make the Downtown Council crowd happy. Dunn is furious. AFL/CIO won't be endorsing them in the future. The Mayor may look stronger for now and won't be rewarding them. It may certainly make reelection efforts more challenging. So why did they do it? Maybe because it was RIGHT!

  16. 11:00 has it right. Let Dunn be furious -- he's gotten rich off Wayne's deals WAY to long! Let's see if the biz suits know how to make an HONEST buck! ANd no matter where the money comes from, it's the VOTES that count! Hermann has my vote for Mayor.

  17. Cauthern is the reason that the Minority Contractors got shoved out of the work downtown which benefited several of the guys on your list.
Cauthern is the reason that three of the people on that list have been able to knock down some money from the east side because it was thought that they could get Cauthern to do what ever they asked.
Cauthern will not go to Denver he will con some other city --

  18. WAS CAUTHEN LET GO BECAUSE OF PERCEIVED INCOMPETENCE OR MERE DISLIKE OR OUT-AND-OUT CORRUPTION OF SOME KIND?

Why, exactly, was Cauthen shown the door?

The question hasn't been answered publicly, to the citizens.
