TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! KIM CARLOS IN THE MIDST OF KANSAS CITY HOTEL HOT MESS!!!
Under the radar there are some major developments underway with Kansas City's proposed 1,000 room hotel.
The City Council Hotel Committee (or whatever) is putting forward some really dumb ideas that should cost Kansas City for years to come.

A City Council document on the hotel deal shows a general lack of business sense and once again demonstrates that this cowtown is giving away the store to potential developers.

WORD ON THE STREET IS THAT KANSAS CITY POLITICAL POWERHOUSE KIM CARLOS IS CLEARING 40K FOR SIX MONTHS OF "WORK" PROMOTING THE PROPOSED 1,000 ROOM HOTEL!!!
It's a horrible decision because Kim Carlos is so politically connected that I'm not really sure how she keeps track of how many clients she works for at any given time.
Kim Carlos is in bed with Hotel Committee Co-Chair Cindy Circo and could be running her next campaign. That's not to suggest any tit-for-tat deals with Carlos who never hesitates to tell everyone that she's very brave and savvy breast-cancer survivor because I'm sure Circo would never be so obvious about any connection that doesn't involve the Fire Department BUT there is a connection nonetheless.
Kim Carlos is also connected to Mayoral Candidate Mike Burke . . . What's amazing to me is that there's really no need right now for Carlos to be drawing a check given that so many people in KC are opposed to yet another corporate welfare scheme and this cowtown ill-advisedly entering the struggling hotel business.
REAL TALK: KIM CARLOS IS GETTING PAID TO BE A CHEERLEADER FOR A CONTROVERSIAL PROJECT DESPITE SO MANY POTENTIAL CONFLICTS!!!
And despite efforts to be "Smart with the money" or rhetoric about a "City that works" it seems that nothing has changed in Kansas City and so many decisions in this town aren't based on improving the quality of life for residents but smarmy political alliances.

I have worked with Kim and have found her to be professional and sincere. Everytime you beat her up on this blog I donate to another one of her candidates. If Tony hates her she must be doing something right!

I'd also like to eat a fish dinner out of her bunghole.
She has to be hired because of the City's quota system. It's not her fault that the Terry Riley's and John Sharp's of the world push M/WBE BS. She is just taking her share of the study to set up some meetings. If she didn't do it, then Phillips West would be collecting the check.
The system is set up to funnel cash to connected M/WBE firms who then can channel the cash to the re-election campaigns.
Carlos is just lucky to get a cut of this to pay the bills.

A 1000 Room convention hotel could present a lot of money to a girl in Kim's line of work, but sadly the Johns expect the girls to actually show up and provide services -- which is beyond Kim's level of self-discipline.
