SUPREMACY and a Double Standard for Kansas City Minority-Owned Businesses

New Kansas City restaurant Element is opening without a liquor license thanks to panicky Crossroads neighbors and the local reasoning that uses the term "hip-hop" to stomp all over the rights of people of color.

  1. Which means that people will be drinking or doing drugs in their cars or going next door to the gay bar, Flo's Cabaret for liquor and then going back to Element.

  2. Oh yeah, hip hop clubs are great. Ask neighbors of NV, Zen, America's Pub. They deserve their rep.

  3. Except for Zen the other two places are in commercial areas. Zen is surrounded by a crime infested neighborhood. Rather than get anything great accomplished, the uptight mostly white homeowners constantly fight with each other and everyone. I've been to Zen and the neighborhood should be thankful to have a classy club there instead of another check cashing place.

    If that.
