Evening Thought: Jackson County Pays For Alleged Prosecutorial Misconduct Related To Tragic Case of Dead White Lady Junkie!!!

There's more Jackson County money out the door this evening, this time from the Prosecutor's Office as The Jackson County Legislature has voted unanimously to pay $70,000 to settle the claims of an assistant prosecutor.

"Jackson County Prosecutor James Kanatzar "vehemently" denied any wrongdoing and said punishment faced by Daniel "Dan" Miller was directly related to his prosecutorial misconduct in a high-profile death case.

In exchange for the money, Daniel "Dan" Miller will resign his post and drop his federal and state discrimination claims, according to County Clerk Mary Jo Spino. The 9-0 vote occurred following a closed session discussion of Miller's claims."

This is sort of a sad way to finish the day not only for cash-strapped Jackson County but also for Pitch writer Nadia Pflaum who wrote a great cover story about the tragic dead junkie broad who was sorta one of her buddies.

It (almost) goes without saying that none of this drama would have occurred if the poor lady who OD'd would have been a person of color . . . Because experience tells us that few, if any people make a ruckus over those cases.
