This last bit of news from City Hall during this first, hot-ass week of summer CLEARLY demonstrates that NOBODY is in charge. In absence of any leadership from Mayor Funky and because the City Council is either fighting amongst themselves or can't really go back on their sweetheart deal not so long ago . . .
WORD IS THAT CITY MANAGER WAYNE CAUTHEN HAS HIRED KIMIKO GILMORE AS THE ASSISTANT TO THE CITY MANAGER!!!
Local denizens of the political scene know that Ms. Gilmore has strong political roots in local Democrat circles AND she is a former associate of Senator Claire McCaskill.
Obviously, she's pretty well qualified . . . However, there is talk that she's taking down A HUGE PAYDAY amid City Hall layoffs and cutbacks. And everyone at the Hall thought there was a hiring freeze . . . This talk is yet another example that City Manager Wayne Cauthen answers to NOBODY . . . And the center of power in KC is nothing more than Wayne's World.

this is the city council's mess. the funk wanted to replace him. the city council owns him 100%, or he owns them.
Cauthen stopped hiring qualified department heads and staff 2 years ago. Qualified people don't brown nose and that pisses Wayne big time.
Fucking idiots on this blog. Kendrick Blackwood is THE MAYOR'S Chief of Staff. Chuck Eddy is THE CITY MANAGER'S Chief of staff.
And they're both overpaid and unqualified.

I love the way Wayne thumbs his nose and moons the council any time he wants! How many good qualified employees were laid off in the City NManager's Office to "save" money for his nonsense. His Waynette cheerleader team is still intact: Cathy Le, Thalia Cherry, Tracie McClendon and Ava Gardner. All worthless spendthrifts
