PROPOSED CITADEL PLAZA FUNDING CUTS KANSAS CITY INFRASTRUCTURE!!!

The Jeff Yates Memo regarding Citadel Plaza Funding just came out this afternoon.

For the most part it's a boring document that paints a far too happy picture.

However, looking through the long list of stuff that's cut on behalf of Citadel Plaza. One important thing is clear:

CITADEL PLAZA FUNDING IS COMING FROM MAJOR CUTS TO INFRASTRUCTURE FROM THE NORTHLAND AND ALL ACROSS KANSAS CITY!!!

It looks like the only thing they did right was to take money from a dog park . . . Which I can understand . . . Unfortunately, everything from flood control, curbs and sidewalks to streetlights is sacrificed for this doomed project.

Tony I think it's worth pointing out that most of these cuts come from The Northland and there it's nothing but a nice piece of political payback. If the Funk has any common sense he will stand up for the people who put him into office and vote this down.

Funk has made alliances with Terry Riley and John Sharp. He will support this.

Contingency CD 3 has large balances. Why don't wipe that out for this project?

no love is lost between the northland councilmen and the mayor , either. Once again, the northland is SCREWED by city council, right Sharon Sanders-Brooks? Melba Curls? Terry Riley? Ever heard of reverse race discrimination?

Northland swung Jan and Beth. That was the key to victory.

As a black woman in the Northland, its true, there are many, many people of color in the northland, I have to say "Thank you Deb Herrman for standing up for ME" I am not a member of Harvest church and I don't hat the Eastside where I grew up, but I don't support projects that don't really help. This is a chicken and egg proposition. They keep saying we'll fund chickens and the eggs don't appear. Figure out the egg problem before you get anymore chickens.
