Local white people celebrating their similarly-skin-colored heroes have once again mistaken a slightly better than mediocre performance for The Second Coming.
It's like this town forgot that Jared Allen just jumped ship for tens of millions of dollars and never thought about Kansas City again.
Let me be the first to note that Royals Pitcher Zack Greinke is nothing but a lot of hype at this point. This early in the season there is no telling who is going to be a factor down the line and the locals are silly to take bored sports newsies at their word.
Reggie Jackson was called Mr. October for a reason . . . It's because he played when it mattered and didn't burn out before the All-Star break.
I'm not afraid to note that all of this Greinke hype is yet again tacit racism on the part of Kansas City sports fans. Looking for a white face to cheer for is an ugly local tradition that big media loves to feed into and once again playing to this town's worst instincts proves profitable.
Let's get is straight . . . In terms of MLB, Greinke is a non-factor so far and IF HE DOES prove to have some talent in the long term that only means that he'll leave Kansas City in a hurry. So overly enthusiastic white people wanting the baseball star to have sex with their family should probably calm down . . . Because the only thing people from Kansas City can count on is disappointment.

one of your worst posts ever tony. slow news day so you have to resort to making something up based on racism? something good going on and you find a way to stomp on any enthusiasm. get the fuck outta town.
ReplyDeleteAnd Greinke's not all.
ReplyDeleteRejoice, White Brothers!
You can now achieve firmer, longer-lasting erections knowing that all of boxing's heavyweight belts are currently held by our melanin-deprived bretheren.
"Empowered" is the only word to describe how I feel.
signed your biggest fan
ReplyDeleteGod I hate the people that read this blog almost as much as tony
No shit. If you don't like the locals rooting for a paleface pitcher, hump your greasy little ass back on down to Villahermosa or anywhere outside the US that there ain't enough white folks to bother you.
ReplyDeleteWe are sick of your race-card bullshit.
I understand Tony's tactics are deplorable.
ReplyDeleteBut c'mon, there's no way anyone can tell if Greinke is this good so early in the season. In that case, I'm sorry to say that TKC has a point.
He lets us believe in ourselves.
ReplyDelete"there's no way anyone can tell if Greinke is this good so early in the season"
ReplyDeleteHuh?
What the hell have you been watching??
Grienke has always had the talent. He finally got his head screwed on straight....
Tony gets bored and flings a racist angle into everything to happen in KC. Find something worthwhile to talk
ReplyDeleteComon Tony....was the "love affair" with Tony G. a "pale face" thing?
ReplyDeleteThe love affair fans have with me is a pale face thing, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteabsolutely right, ward. sure, it's early in the season, but why not dare to hope that Zack might have a Cy Young season. he's off to a great start and deserves the kudos.
ReplyDeleteand i'd be rooting just as hard no matter what color his skin, tony.
Stupid biased crap like this is a big part of why the Star is dying.
ReplyDeleteBye.
You taking lessons from Lewis Duiguid (or however he spells his name) on race baiting?
ReplyDeleteThey seem to have taken hold given this race baiting rant.
Can't just give props where their due?
Geezus - give it a rest already with this "white people", "brown people" B.S.
Jealous much, Tony?
ReplyDeleteAmen to anonymous. The white people/brown people crap is REALLY tired.
Ever stop to think that maybe people don't hate you because of the color of your skin, but because you're a prick?
Race. Wow. Good one there. You're smaller than your ability to type words and that's sad. Had someone direct me here to check this post out. What a waste of good internet.
ReplyDeleteTony slips into Whitlock Lite mode.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you've tapped into The Star's biz model for building customer loyalty, dickhead. Way to go!
ReplyDeleteHorrible post Tony. You need to change the name of your blog to tonysgonemild.com.
ReplyDeleteYou and Danbag are the two of best at calling other people racists.
It's not a race thing. As someone mentioned earlier, what about Joakim Soria? He was last year's hero. I don't think he is Caucasian. What about Jose Lima a few years back? This town was crazy over Lima Time. And I still see tons of white people wearing Derrick Thomas jerseys.
You might as well start writing about the ethics blackout or whatever at the Jackson County Legislature, and trying to portray yourself as some sort of renaissance man by posting poetry on Sundays.
9:33 beat me to the punch!
ReplyDeleteJoakim Soria give me a break. He didn't get half the love this kid is getting.
ReplyDeleteTony you're a dick but you have a point on this one. Shame how all these shitheads will be crying when Greinke goes to the Yankees.
Joke of a post... You just earned one less tipster...
ReplyDeleteSoria got plenty of love and still does. You don't remember people running all over town trying to get one of those T-shirts from 810?
ReplyDeleteGreinke is 6 & 0. Three complete games. 0.40 ERA. 10 to one Strike Outs to Walks & Strike Outs to Innings.
Those aren't just "good" numbers. Those are sick numbers. Best in baseball and it's not even close. Royals have been in the basement for how many years and now they are in first place in May, and have the best pitcher in the game. And you don't want fans to get excited about that because the dude is white? Wow. Please tell me you're just using the tired model of stiring up shit because any publicity is good publicity. You don't really believe this crap do you?
You nailed it, Tony. It reminds me of last year when every pale faced whitey in KC was running around to pick up free Mexicutioner T-Shirts. Nothing says racism like supporting the ultimate Royals whitey, Joakim Soria.
ReplyDeletewow Tony, you remind me of mayor funk. "stupid arena" stupid this, stupid that. why can't you get behind the good news? your being an ass. support local or go home.
ReplyDeleteYeah Tony you better learn how to jump on a KC bandwagon. Remember when we all hated Bo Jackson and the loved him and then didn't care? Good times.
ReplyDeleteI have been a dormant Royals fan. I came of age in the heyday of the Royals' success but the salary structure of the game shifted dramatically the last 20 years and watching baseball in KC was not much different from watching baseball in Omaha. I have watched Greinke pitch all six games and his ability as a pitcher has improved. He is mixing up his pitches nicely. Whether the Royals can afford to keep him after his current contract is up is another story but cheering for Zach's success is no different than the Chief's fans cheering for DTs success. Sports fans have gotten past race way before others.

Tony is just pointing out that September games have more value than April and May games when it comes to overall record. Which is obvious to any statistically inclined mind.
ReplyDelete/sarcasm
I can't believe how many people are taking this post seriously...
ReplyDelete"I can't believe how many people are taking this post seriously..."
ReplyDeleteWhich should tell you what people think of Tony. As mom always said, once a race-baiter, always a race-baiter
I just read this blog for the pictures, don't you?
ReplyDeletetony is a human race hater, unless you like to "cut" people.
ReplyDeletethanks for the swine flu tony...now shut the fuck upand swim on home
ReplyDeleteTKC has artfully ensured that you're going to tell all your white friends to read "this stupid racist Mexican guy's blog." Show him how you're smarter than him on the internets by angrily pounding away at your keyboard... TKC might skim over your comments after he's done masturbating.
ReplyDeleteIt's exciting to see Greinke on the cover of SI, but it takes an entire team to win. If Greinke keeps playing as well as he has been, and we are able to keep him around for a few seasons, we may be able to build a strong team and have a shot at the playoffs. Either way, enjoy Greinke while he lasts. He's destined to play for the Yankees or Bo Sox at some point.
maybe Greinke will have another emotional meltdown right as his contract is about to end, and will realize that us cornfed, small market, low-expectation-having fans are not so bad.
ReplyDeletea boy can dream can't he?
el...very true but fuck him all the same
ReplyDeleteMichael Savage (Talk Show Host) is banned from England because he is deemed as someone who can cause inter-community violence by the way he presents his ideas. Tony should be banned (personally I think he should be prosecuted for hate crimes) from Kansas City and Kansas City events for doing the same thing. Savage speak is benign compared to the posts of Tony that create tension amongst Kansas City multi-cultural residents and I’m sure has invoked unreported violence. Tony you are a racist twit. I'm sure you blast God every night for not making you white.
ReplyDeleteOnce again I can sit back on my deck and relax with beer in hand knowing and feeeel good about my many possessions earned from hardwork knowing that this poor wetback from illegal immigrant descent is pouting in his basement that the white man is far more superior than his pathetic man-boobed life. We white people wouldn't realize how great we really are if there weren't poor slimey wetbacks like you. Thanks for taking one for the team HOMO
ReplyDeleteGreinke is signed for another four years I believe so need to worry about that now, just enjoy watching him pitch and the Royals season. I really cant believe this post and how you can connect the fan's rabid fascination with Greinke's performance to a form of rascism. Its just nutz, KC fans could care less about such things, all we want is performance and personality based, race has nothing to do with it. It is really sad to see that someone can take such an outstanding story like Greinke's and turn it into a race story. I pity you, you must live an angry depressed life.
