Petty environmentalism before safety in KC

KMBC reports that weekly curbside recycling will continue in Kansas City, despite budget cutbacks in other departments. Proving once again that disposing of The Star, plastic containers and cereal boxes in order to make hippies feel better about themselves is far more important than cops on local streets.

  1. It's a shame we couldn't have more recycling centers around town where we could bring our own recycling like they used to have at 47th and Troost. If that would save the city money I'd have no trouble dropping off my recyling stuff at a center.

  2. I breifly mention in my 'zine that Cleaver is more concerned about the polar ice caps melting than the murder rate in his own district... even if that's a municiple issue, he could still be doing more to make a difference for his constituents instead of some polar bears that would probably eat him for lunch.

  4. Wonder how many city employees could have kept their jobs if the city had stuck to the biweekly schedule. Instead of using the "savings" to reinstate weekly recycling, why didn't they reinstate some employees who got screwed out of a job?
