Kansas City Stadiums Stay Winning!!!

Satchel Paige Memorial Stadium will get a $277,000 makeover in a project approved Tuesday by the Kansas City park board.

I know, I know . . . It's a valuable asset to the community and whatever . . . But it's also disheartening to know that stadium funding of all varieties still take a high priority over neighborhoods . . . And the place mostly sits vacant.

  1. I guess I thought this stadium was a park that was part of a neighborhood.

  2. Nah that would be too close to the truth for Tony to report.

  3. And good luck to anyone who would like to reserve that field for any games unless you're a member of the right "ministry".

  4. Why doesn't the Park Department just sell the stadium and let some one with a little bit of business savvy run it like a real business?
That's what they did with the golf courses and they've been a lot better since! No city money or subsidies required. Matter of fact, they probably make money for the city now.
