At this point, there aren't many people reading Hearne's blog so I don't know why I bother paying attention to him . . . But, as always, I want to help.
Therefore, I want teach Hearne what folks on the Internets already know . . . LINKING IS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE LANGUAGE OF BLOGGING!!!
D-bags who don't understand the way the Internets works always accuse TKC of liberally using Internets content but they don't seem to know much about copyright law, fair use and how the kickass parody of this blog makes a great deal of my "work" (hehe) an original creation . . . And there's always a LINK BACK so that readers can check the source.
Big media rarely, if ever provides links to where they discovered their material and a trend that I see on the net is even more disturbing . . .
HEARNE CHRISTOPHER DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO CREATE A HYPERLINK OR HE'S TOO ARROGANT TO DO SO!!!!
So, until that d-bag decides to create a link . . . He'll be deleted from this page (if I ever get around to it) and I can only encourage others to challenge this troubling trend that's part of the arrogance that so many fired newsies finally starting their own real blogging efforts.
Links are the language of the net . . . This page is full of them and they lead to people I disagree with, to people I don't like and to some folks who make me laugh.
If Hearne won't participate in the net like so many other bloggers . . . If he won't take the time to learn the simplest forms of netiquette . . . Than Kansas City's Internet Community doesn't really need him.
So . . . Until Hearne posts at least one link . . . Hopefully to the Hispanic Scholarship Fund . . . He won't get another link on this page . . . Which, is one of the few pages in KC to link him in the first place.
Oh, I don't know, he's got an interesting post about bottomline.com.comdotcom.com - you know, the (former) blog that can't even tell if someone's dead or not?

Well I do agree with you about linking...but I've also noticed that linking in this town, other than you, is kind of cliquish. (Eww. Is that a WORD?)

Hearne may be up to something different... he'll notice his hits go up when people llink to him, as I do.
YOU're right about this being a club... blogging isn't really that public... I think it's more like a club of people who like issues and know each other a bit. It's still a good and fun hobby.

But don't try starting a boycott. Hearne's too good to boycott. And starting a boycott sounds like something a one-man activist would try down at the P&L district.
