Mayor Funky has VERY LITTLE experience working in the community and during his tenure he's made absolutely no effort to improve his lack of participation in Kansas City Neighborhoods.
Nevertheless . . . I like his recent effort, at least in spirit:
"Funk stumps for higher child-care subsidies in Jeff City"
Unfortunately, Kansas City's Mayor is all about speeches and publicity grabbing and nothing besides . . . So don't expect much action from the Mayor on a problem related to childcare in his own backyard as Operation Breakthrough is about to lose its funding from the City.
Again, if Kansas City's Mayor really cares about child-care then he'll do what TKC tells him to and work to fund people who really need it instead of just mugging for the cameras and making a pointless speech . . . Following the advice of TKC will demonstrate that Mayor Funky has learned just a little something about leadership by example rather than cheap publicity stunts he has relied on so far.
Are they really going to trade him in for a Mayor that can't add and subtract. Corwin and Forsyth are both starting to talk and write a lot about the City so I think that both of them are running for something.
ReplyDeleteI WANT my tax money to go to Operation Breakthrough, and I know a lot of other people who do, too. Here's a suggestion--give some funding to OB and take some away from that foolish City Youth Advocate Office.
ReplyDeleteDid the mayor use again a steer to prmote something? Perhaps his proposal to have light rail could be used for child welfare. We could have child care on rail. It would only cost 1.3 billion dollars.
