Cleaver's advice for KC Obama faithful

Congressman and former KC Mayor Emanuel Cleaver offer some tips for KC Folks wanting to see history in the making:
As the district prepares for the masses, Congressman Cleaver warns it's going to be very uncomfortable to witness history.

Cleaver says visitors will have to leave their hotels before 4 a.m. the morning of the inauguration. Many streets will be closed. Parking will be extremely limited. Visitors will also have to wait in long lines for public transportation then walk several miles. They can also expect to stand for eight hours in the cold.

If you think it's something you can't handle, Cleaver suggests you stay home.
Here's some "lost" Cleaver advice to Obama fans on Inauguration Day that seems like something he would say:

  • Hair Plugs aren't as warm as one would think.

  • To get a better seat, say you're going to (supporting) something else and then sneak in at the last second.

  • For all of you faults, remind people that you wear shoes to the office unlike KC Co-Mayor Squitiro.

  • Pray - It seems to work.

As for Kansas City people hoping to see history . . . Presidents get sworn in all the time, very few of them have managed to change things for the better.
