TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! RED BRIDGE DOESN'T REALLY WANT OBAMA'S HELP!!!

I've been talking to a couple of folks familiar with the struggle of Red Bridge Road neighbors to save their part of Kansas City and what they're saying is unique:

RED BRIDGE ROAD COMMUNITY ACTIVISTS DON'T WANT FEDERAL INFRASTRUCTURE BAILOUT MONEY BECAUSE IT WILL ONLY HELP TO PAVE OVER THEIR NEIGHBORHOOD!!!

Consider this: Investment bankers, mortgage brokers and auto executives from all around the nation have been standing in line with hat in hand BEGGING for some of that sweet, sweet, government cash . . . But folks from Red Bridge would rather do without not only because they're facing the annihilation of their property values but also because they claim that the Red Bridge Project isn't something that should be counted as "infrastructure." People from this part of town explain that the Red Bridge Proposal is more along the lines of irresponsible development that is a new project using funds that would be better put to use someplace else.

Essentially, KC people are rejecting handouts while politicos are pleading for this bailout . . . It's a story that TKC reported first and MSM newsies might want to follow-up on . . . Of course without offering any credit.

Even better . . . The local media has been filtering information about the proposed Federal Infrastructure bailout with getting into specifics.

KICKASS TKC TIPSTERS BELIEVE THAT THE PUBLIC HAS A RIGHT TO KNOW ALL OF THE DETAILS!!!

Therefore, thanks to one of the original and super well-informed (AND KICKASS) tipsters of this blog . . . I'd like to offer this publicly available but pretty much unreported raw data breakdown of the bailout money that both Missouri and Kansas Mayors have been dreaming about:

Bailout Request from Missouri Mayors

Bailout Request from Kansas Mayors

Yeah, for two red states it's kind of an X-mas wish list with everything but the kitchen sink . . . Thankfully, as this information is distributed . . . Locals have an opportunity to take a look at some of the pork that politicos are requesting which really doesn't reflect well on their priorities.

  1. I thought that the bailout money was to fix stuff that was falling apart. Who made this list? it is for pork projects! not to repair the infastructure that has been deteriorating for years here in KC.
How about the sewers that were promised to areas of north Kansas city years ago. How about the bridges that are dropping cement, how about the buildings with leaking roofs. This is more city council bullshit not getting serious.

  2. Best not be too quick to look a gift horse in the mouth. South KC is on the ghetto express heading for (sub)urban decay central. Grandview is leading the way.

And don't blame whitey (who used to keep the place nice). So stick your paw in the tax payers pocket 'cause ghetto central won't pony up anything.

  3. Government spending during this recession will ultimately be the problem, which deepens the recession. Why would we think that after years of listening to lobbyists, bankers, brookers, and various other huksters that the Congress and the White House will be able to be effective and efficient with the publics money? The raid on the public treasurery is on. Pigs at the trough are waiting in line. Our own council now will be there wanting pork. This is the same group that has allowed deffered maintenance to go on for years in this town. Now they want fed monies to fund there pork kickbacks. Shame on the council for advancing needless projects and waisting tax dollars.

  5. Who put this wish list together it is a bunch of payoff projects.

  6. You people are idiots and can't read. The Missouri list contains many items that are for the health, safety and welfare of the citizens. The failed bridges on Reinking and 96th, the combined sewer issues, the replacement of unsafe intersections, etc., etc., etc. This money is going to be spent in Indianapolis, Chicago, Dallas, OK City, and other competing cities whether we participate or not - better to lobby hard and get our share to stay competitive.

  7. Anony 09:32:00 You could stay competitive if you got a little bit of brains more than at present. What got us into this mess is thoughts like yours on a national scale.

Call Claire McCaskill and tell her NO WAY do we want PORK BARREL bailouts.
