Jefferson City, MO --- House Democratic Leader Paul LeVota has appointed Rep. Mike Talboy (D- Kansas City) Chair of The Missouri House Democratic Campaign Committee for the 2010 election cycle. Talboy replaces Rep. Rachel Storch, who led the HDCC during the 2008 cycle.

House Democrats have increased their numbers in the Missouri House of Representatives for two consecutive elections. That marks the first time since 1970 that Missouri House Democrats have increased their numbers for two elections in a row.

"We continue to make gains because we are recruiting good candidates who are running modern, professional campaigns," Talboy said. "I have been speaking to future candidates and Democratic supporters throughout the state since November 4 and I am excited about the opportunity to continue expanding our numbers."

Rep. Talboy was first elected to the Missouri House of Representatives in 2006. He served on the HDCC during the 2008 campaign cycle. Prior to being elected he worked on various Democratic campaigns. He is also a practicing attorney at the firm of Shughart, Thompson & Kilroy in Kansas City.

"The 2010 election has already begun," said LeVota (D-Independence). "Rep. Talboy has the political background and personal commitment that it takes to lead the HDCC and ensure continued success."

The Missouri House Democratic Campaign Committee is focused solely on electing Democrats to the Missouri House of Representatives.

Downtonw Kansas City needs more representation at that state level. If it were up to the Republicans, they would ignore us all together.

The little shit is a crook. And if he is going to pick candidates like Amy Coffman who he supported in the 44th last summer, then the Dems are going to give back 30 seats.
