Times aren't THAT tough in Kansas City!!!

Or maybe I'm just really poor . . . One of the most insightful TKC Tipster points out a listing today that might provide even more justification for class warfare or at least a clue that The Star is starting to get into the Sponsored Content biz:
"The Calender Section of today's Kansas City Star features an event at the Michael Smith restaurant in the Crossroads. The price is $200/person and includes select Cabernet Sauvignon wines. How many couples can blow $500 or a night out for dinner? And why is the Star listing this as a calendar item when it should be a paid ad?"
And therein lies the reason The Star is going down the tubes: THEY DON'T KNOW THEIR AUDIENCE!!! In this economy, in this town . . . There can't be that many people who would even consider this as something to put on their calender . . . Yet there it is . . . The Star demonstrating that their publication will either be completely upscale and irrelevant or that the JoCo Editorial Board is so completely out of touch with KC Proper that they believe this information is vital.
