While KC local elections are "non-partisan" the post makes a great point. Funkhouser says he's a "liberal-Democrat" at every turn but doesn't really have the credentials to back it up. The Kansas City Democrats pretty much hate him and he wasn't welcome as a delegate during the presidential election. Meanwhile, he shills for a reactionary, so-called conservative talk show host . . . As of yet, neither the Republicans nor the Democrats have bothered to claim his train wreck of a political career.
