Maybe Mike Ferguson can give "dying" Grandview a second chance

Close political watchers know Mike Ferguson as Missouri Libertarian and political activist. Today he announced his most recent campaign in an online newsletter:

"...I am now formally a candidate for the Grandview (MO) Board of Aldermen.

I filed my candidacy paperwork and paid the filing fee this morning. I am running for the open seat to represent the city's Ward III. The incumbent has decided to not run for reelection and will be actively supporting me.

I already represent the ward on both Grandview's Planning Commission and on Grandview's Transportation Committee which are appointed positions. I represent the same area on the local Water District Board of Directors (an elected position I won in 2007 with over 72% of the vote in a two-way race).

The Board of Aldermen election is April 7th, 2009.

I am going to keep my spending under $1,000 in order to not be required to form a committee and file multiple financial reports. As long as I do not spend $1,000 and no individual contributions exceed $325, I will not be required to form a campaign committee."
