Longtime GM Peterson stepping down as Chiefs remain on skids
Kansas City Chiefs president and general manager Carl Peterson has resigned, effective at the end of the season.At last, at least one Kansas City failed tenure has come to an end.
Owner Clark Hunt confirmed the resignation Monday.
Peterson took over in 1989. He hired Marty Schottenheimer as coach and they built the Chiefs into an NFL powerhouse over the next 10 years.
However, Kansas City faltered the past decade and seemed to hit a low point with an emotionally draining 22-21 loss Sunday to San Diego, which left the Chiefs 2-12.
Funk should be next.

ReplyDeleteWow, really? There are typically about 70-100 thousand NFL fans all over the country that fill stadiums weekly and millions more who watch all over the country. Everyone is a 'diehard fan' over something, like rednecks with Nascar, or negative nancies like you and showtunes.
I'm a diehard fan. It's not about the franchise or merchandise. Its about the sport I grew up playing and the city I'm from. You come off as the bitter, lonely kid in HS who never made the football team and still carries a grudge. Why do you care what someone else chooses to enjoy?
