It's all out in the open now: State Takeover of Kansas City School Board Now "offically" Under Discussion!!!
The Kansas City School Board drama could soon be coming to an end . . . Check it:
Missouri state Rep. Jonas Hughes and others, including former school board member Bill Eddy, imagine a legislative remedy handing control to an appointed board of local community leaders, separate from the politics and troubled history dragging at Kansas City’s elected board. The story also confirms an interesting detail that TKC reported over the weekend:
Rep. Brian Yates of Lee's Summit said he was planning legislation that would require all Kansas City's school board members to be elected at large rather than having some elected by subdistricts. He also wants term limits. All things considered, it's probably good news that elected officals at the state level are obviously looking at solutions to an ongoing problem that Kansas City has been unable and unwilling to solve on its own.
