PRETTY MUCH AN ADMISSION OF GUILT IN THE MAMMYGATE CASE!!! KANSAS CITY CO-MAYOR SETTLES HER PART OF A DISCRIMINATION COMPLAINT!!!

TKC TIPSTERS . . . STAND UP!!!

The Squitiro part of the MammyGate case has been settled.

Everybody is talking on this one and TKC hears that the settlement from the Funk Family household from the VARIOUS INSURANCE COMPANIES AFFILIATED WITH THE NUMEROUS MORTGAGES ON THEIR HOUSE(!!!) comes to anywhere between 40 to 50k.

For important and rich TKC readers . . . That might not sound like much but it's basically ammo to fund the remainder of the lawsuit against Kansas City . . . (Thank you Funkhouser family!!! Ugh.)

Word is that Gloria desperately wanted her day in court but the insurance companies wisely chose to settle their part before it got any worse.

The talks were underway right after the Ed Wolf Deposition which pretty much sunk Mayor Funky's case.

I'm thinking that this news means that the City should definitely settle their part of the case because dragging this thing out would be pointless given that objective observers with money on the line KNOW THAT THE VICTIM OF THE MAMMY SLUR IS GOING TO WIN!!! A very smart person reminded me . . . Insurance companies don't give cash away to people they think they can beat.

Nevertheless, the craziness of the co-mayors continues as people are saying the Mayor himself is leaking out some of this information and is scrambling for some kind of resolution or way to save face in this drama that will take away the sting of the settlement.

Again . . . Expect Kansas City to settle next now that the sticking point of the initial settlement reported in the media (Gloria Squitiro's presence in the Mayor's office) is not part of the equation anymore thanks to the City Council.

Here's the awesome (and much more offical) write-up from Dave Helling filed 7 and half minutes after this post (check the timestamp bitches).

Tune in tomorrow for more details . . .

  3. Homeowner's liability ins covers this kind of lawsuit.

And for 6:40 you are the ass, it is either kmbC 9 news or kmbZ 980 news radio. it has been that way since the late 70's.

    So what is it punk?

  4. Insurance companies know all. We serve them all our days. It is what we should do, so it must be done.

I am so happy since I opened the Pod that I found in my back yard.

    Insurance companies are wonderful.

  7. Listen, Funkhouser is smart with the money! He is only using Gloria's mouth to commit large amounts of our tax money (KC's part of the settlement) to be spent before it can be used to pay for indigent care. The man keeps his promises. He opposed health care for poor people in the campaign, and now he has made it more difficult to pay for it. This is all part of his Grand Plan, now take a big quaff of Kool Aid and enjoy the ride.

I hear he is turning Mormon next so he can marry Sarah Palin and really kick it up a notch around here!

  8. You are the man Santino! Now let's hope for the City's sake the Funk settles and the City settles. I would like to read Burnetta's deposition if the Funk is stupid enough not to settle. We may also get the chance to see if Ruth Bates wants to gut them in public first... apparently, she may have an extra loose $50,000 to fund her lawsuit.

  9. A wise plantiff takes a reasonable out of court settlement an avoids the chance of loosing the case and receiving no money. Looks like Gloria Funkhousers is not doing bad considering what might have happened in court. And the young woman filing the action has more negotiations to go. No one really should want to go to trial. Now the real winners, as always, the Lawyers.

We all lost some entertainment by this not going to trial.

  10. Well, at least we know that not only is a nepotism lawsuit possible, it is very likely.

    Thank you Ed....

  11. Most settlements are sealed. Seems the funk-ees leaked the details to save face. This one is not yet signed and already the bastards have failed to live up to a promise. How can the plaintiff negotiate in good faith with this group of uncontrolled maniacs? Why did the attorneys for the funk-ees allow them to go public? why is Wirken saying that this unsigned deal is enforceable? I hope the Missouri Bar Association takes a look at this mess.

  12. This is all bullshit and now I'm glad we're past it.

    Hang in there Funk.

  13. Funk go home.

  14. Is Wirken representing The Squid or Ruth Bates? We will see how the tentative settlement works out... as to trusting the Gruesome Two, Mayor Two-Facedhouser is about as untrustworthy a soul as one could expect to find... even in h-ll. And the Squid... all you need to do is look at that putrid wretched soul to recognize that she cannot be truted with anything.

  15. Time from a recall, good riddance funk.

  16. Sooooooul sistahs!

    SS Brooks and The Squid.

    You both deserve each other.

  17. talk about a gruesome twosome

  18. Wirken represents the mayor. Gloria has an insurance defense attorney.

    ReplyDelete
  19. so why is Wirken talking for squit? Council was REAL specific about delineation of representation. He crossed several lines last night. The bastard is acting like a bad attorney. One who prefers to bully in the boardroom, but is not so good at courtroom standards. It must be hard to be an attorney and a slothful litigator. WHEN funk-ee goes to council for more money to pay this piece of trash, council should say no. Funk-ee should pay his own legal fees. The insurance company knew when to bail out of this losing team.

  20. Wirken should be investigated by the Mo Bar.
Just ask his (former) employees about their bounced paychecks. He can't even keep his end of an employment agreement.
