A memo out of Mayor Funky's office this morning reconfigured KC's TIF shortfall to almost $4 million a year.
News of this was forecast earlier this month . . . BUT NOW IT'S OFFICIAL FROM THE BUDGET OFFICE AND THE MAYOR!!! A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO TKC TIPSTERS WHO SENT THE CONFIRMATION THIS WAY!!!
THE HORRIBLE SHORTFALL IS ALL THANKS TO ELECTRIC AVENUE, SO I'M HOPING EVERYBODY IN KANSAS CITY HAD A GREAT TIME PAYING FOR JOCO ENTERTAINMENT ALONG WITH RACIAL PROFILING!!!
The bill is just about to come due.
The fallout has already started with the Public Improvements Advisory Committee:
PIAC IS CUTTING $23 MILLION WORTH OF PLANNED PROJECTS AS THE PRETENTIOUS & LAME DISTRICT PROVES TO BE AN ALBATROSS AROUND THE NECK OF KANSAS CITY!!!

ReplyDeleteP&L District = stupidity and greed.
ReplyDeleteMemo to the Gruesome Twosome: Judgment Day almost always arrives. It cannot be avoided.
ReplyDeleteTony,
ReplyDeleteYou were giving warnings on this over a month ago. Why did the city wait so long to tell the public when they knew the extent of the damage? Why hide the bad news for so long?
The public had a right to know befoe the election.
Why would voters care if they heard this info before the election? You think they would have voted Yes for Light Rail if they knew the P&L District was losing money? It wouldn't have mattered, Light Rail would have been defeated regardless.
ReplyDeleteumm - math problem 4 million shortfall doesn't equal 23 million in cuts.
ReplyDeleteBice Bistro is for suckers.
ReplyDeleteThis all means we need Kay Barnes back! She is KC's Obama. Spread the wealth!
ReplyDeletePIAC works in 5 year segments thus 4.2 in shortfall equals 22mill.
ReplyDeletethe real question is: knowing this was coming down the pike, why did Funk and council approve MORE TIF for Bannister? They just dont get it.
ReplyDeletethat sorry ass sissy boy is not the mayor. just two large pieces of crap that we need to flush.
ReplyDeleteMore Tif Mr. Mayor, please?
ReplyDeleteFunkhouser is finished. Sad to say, I voted for him--now with deep regret I appolgize. Get rid of him. He should resign to save the city money and morale.
ReplyDeleteWhat a loser.
PIAC...lets face it....never has done anything for our neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteso it would be no big deal to us if it does shut down.
Now they are going to try to get some money for the museums and the zoo what a bunch of rip off artists.
